It only defies logic if one believes that the Justice system is completely infallible, and that guilty people never go free. I hate to keep bringing up O.J., but he was actually acquitted (unlike Lewis who plead down) and tons of people think he's guilty. According to you, that also "defies logic".

Actually it is not necessary for the justice system to be infallible, it is only necessary to accept that 12 people believed an affirmative defense (wherein the defense assumes the burden of proof after stipulating to the homicide) after hearing several days of testimony including from Lewis, and recognize that this judgment vastly outweighs what passes for the conventional wisdom on the internet.

Was this different from a typical jury trial? All this shows is that the prosecution wasn't able to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, correct? Heck, the whole jury can personally believe in a defendant's guilt yet acquit because there isn't a strong enough case.

An affirmative defense of justifiable homicide requires the defendant to admit killing someone, then prove that they were justified in doing so. So no, it's nothing like you suggest.

I think that Welker's wife is the man killer and Ray Lewis is the fake boob.
