Would Ogbueze transfer?
Seems his brother thinks so according to his twitter:

@KOgbueze22 he really going to go? I thought he would play a significant role next year.

@kyle_sironen23 probably. He does not want to but we have concerns if the program and staff have his best interest and believe in him.

@AlligatorArmy WAY too early but WTH Will Ogbueze stick around? Hill coming in but he could be 1& done Braxton starting PG in 2 yrs or gone?

Who knows what his brother knows or if he's really the one thats frustrated. I'm not trying to start trouble by posting this, just thought it had the potential to be newsworthy.

My view is:
1. It is not a matter of whether the staff has his best interest at heart, but rather is he a good fit at UF and UF is a good fit for him. The staff of course views his best interest as important, but the interest of the team and program as paramout.
2. Ogbueze's brother should probably be more circumspect about discussing such private matters on twitter. He probably is hurting his brother's chances at other places.

It is easy to see how Obgueze can get lost in the depth chart over the next year. He's clearly not getting much playing time this year. Between Wilbekin and Hill there doesn't seem to be much room at the point in 13-14. He can always play off the ball at the two, but Frazier would seem to have the inside track there, and then Braxton's looking at being the fourth guard on the 2013-2014 team.
And if we sign Berry for 2014-2015...
I mean, none of this is inevitable. Braxton could put his head down, work his tail off, improve, impress Billy and earn a lot of playing time. But if you're looking at this from his perspective, you have to worry about getting buried for the next three years.

Well said. I said the identical thing in another thread a few days ago.
I think Braxton defensive inability just killed his chances this year. He started about even w Frazier and just kept sliding to the lowest frosh of the bunch. He had an opportunity with Scottie hurt but only proved to not be ready.
His game film to date will not help his cause if his brother tweets are accurate.

I don't understand that line of thinking. Billy would not have recruited him if he didn't "believe in him".
Furthermore, I don't know BO and will not pretend to know his mind set. However, I will say, I think a lot of these kids have a difficult time transitioning from high school to college. Many of them are the best player in any game they've played in their whole high school career. To me, and this is just me, I would be working my tail off and doing all I could to get better so I could get playing time.
Brax may be working his tail off, I don't know. But his brother would be doing him a favor to not discuss in social media.
If he goes, I understand "why". It's his choice but it doesn't mean he's going to go somewhere else and be a star. He is and always was a 4 year guy and a lot of those guys don't contribute heavily until their Jr year anyway. I hope he works his tail off and sticks it out.

I agree with you and think most players are actually the 4 year type - or should be. Coach Cal is often asked by local media why he doesn't recruit more "4 year players." Cal always responds that he wants to know where he can find them. He goes on to say that even guys ranked in the 40's and 50's think they're one and done - or at least that they should be coming in and playing from day one. According to him, there just aren't many high schoolers eager to accept the fact that they're bench warmers/clean up minute players until their junior or senior year.

Insignificant. Nearly 500 kids transfer between seasons. We may lose some but we also get our share coming in.

Walker also, he plays less. Never shocked when we lose a BB player, happens most year.

I've never understood this. What kind of perception (and I should note, this is ALL rumor based so what I'm saying is just based on that rumor) does he have of himself? This is a guy that is extremely raw right now, is going to be a four year guy no matter where he goes, and would waste a whole year riding the bench if he wants to transfer.
We will be fine with or without him, but I'd love to see him stick it out and earn playing time. That's how the best Gators became legends here.

Im hoping he doesnt listen to his brother. Braxton might not start cos of Hill and potentially Joel, but there will still be plenty of playing time.

Thomas Goldkamp was tweeting back and forth with Braxton's brother and reminded him that T Green played a total of 66 mins as a freshman and then won back to back titles as the starting point guard.
I would also remind him of the fate of one Jai Lucas

Good to know as I said he was a great pickup, thought I blew that one.
Is he a Prather type player?

Maybe I read his brothers timeline wrong, but I think I remember him alluding to Braxton turning pro? Can't be though. Would make no sense to me unless he or his family is just desperate for money and would earn it overseas. There just aren't cases of a guy entering the NBA early after not being able to get on the floor for his college team.
If he thinks he's just the kind of player that needs significant playing time to develop into someone the NBA woudl consider, then maybe he would want to look elsewhere. Sure he can stay and work his way onto the floor, probably. But what if Billy's recruiting success means he never gets better than 10-15 min per game? If thats his worry maybe he has a case.
These guys only have 4 years of eligibility and a lot is riding on those years as far as their futures are concerned. I never blame kids for wanting to, from their perspective, make the most of those years.

Braxton I'm a little unsure of right now.
I know he is a frosh but I haven't seen what you want to see out of a young player to at least have confidence he can play at this level.

Well that would be great if Green had not played 606 minutes or 18.9 minutes a game as a Frosh. Also Lucas played even more minutes a game as a Frosh.

He's a high-level athlete who dominated every game he played in since about the age of 10, if not earlier, then had a bunch of very good college basketball coaches begging him for the opportunity to let them pay his college tuition in exchange for his talents.
So I imagine he thinks pretty highly of himself. Every big-time athlete does. An extraordinary level of self-confidence is almost a pre-requisite for a successful athletic career, just as it is for a successful political career.

Yeah, swing and a miss on that comparison. Although, I don't think it was Goldkamp that said it, but someone else who jumped in the conversation.
