Now if you want to call that an exponential improvement, I guess you can. I see two pretty similar seasons.

I did notice his FT percentage this year, but the site I was on did not list the number of attempts. If he can continue that he will have done what some have tried to credit him with doing at UF, fixing a weakness.

I agree, I was more trying to point out that he did not work on and change weaknesses in his game. I do agree with experience in the college, Parsons became a better and smarter player. He did not correct weakness or have his game improve exponentially in my view.

I agree . I think a particular set of circumstances led to him winning the award. No UF player had ever won it including Walk, Maxwell, Moten, Noah, Horford, Lee, Haslem etc. Also there was no other clear candidate and UF won the regular season title by several games.

One great thing about Parson's NBA career so far is it has really shut up some UK fans. They were big on claiming at least among themselves that the SEC POY could not start for UK that year. Well he has certainly done better in the NBA than some of those UK players, if not all of them.
Has nothing to do with anything. I guess Tom Brady would have started ahead of Tim Tebow, because he sure has had a better NFL career! College effectiveness isn't always the same as NBA effectiveness. If Anthony Davis absolutely flops in the NBA and Dan Werner has a sudden career turnaround and ends up starting for the Heat, I guess we'd say Werner was the better college player then too, right? He must have been.

Your argument doesn't make any sense. You say that college effectiveness isn't the same as NBA effectiveness and then use Brady vs. Tebow as an example and then Werner vs. Davis. The only problem is that you are using players that sucked in college and then had success in the NBA (or hypothetical in Werner's case). While everything you said there is absolutely true, CP doesn't fall into that category. He has proven to be effective at BOTH levels, as evidenced by his POY award and NBA All Rookie Team selection.

I was attacking the logic, not applying it to this specific situation. If the logic isn't applicable, then it can't be applied to any situation.

I did not say the logic was sound. I said we no longer hear about the SEC POY who would not have started at UK. I suspect had Parsons not been drafted or as a second round pick found himself in the D-league quickly that we would have heard this criticism of Parsons winning the SEC POY from some UK fans.

UF fans if anyone certainly know P. "Mr. Regular Season" Manning statting up the NFL regular season year after year after year, does not make him a better college QB than Wuerffel. Wuerffel was head and shoulders above P.Manning as a college QB which is why he won the Heisman and P.Manning lost it to a DB/returner a year later.

Speaking of which, it's a been a while since apologists started a calathes thread. Where is he now? In what currency is he being paid, or given IOUs?
Thank you Chandler for four years as a Gator. Still making us proud.

Nothing to apologize for IMO.

Seems like it's those who dislike Nick who keep bringing him up, particularly in any thread praising Parsons.
