How is Harris doing?
Just curious whether he healed from that debilitating illness that was destroying him as he was trying to heal his shoulder injury?
Any news about whether he will get to practice any with the team this year (that would help tremendously for next year)?

I had heard, perhaps incorrectly, that by the end of November, he had lost about 35 lbs due to some illness that he was having trouble shaking.
Prior to that, Billy D had hoped to have him back at practice sometime in January.
I was wondering where things stand regarding that.

I get a chub thinking about our team next year. Especially if by some miracle Pat comes back....
Finney-Smith
Frazier
Graham
Harris
Hill
Ogbueze
Prather
D Walker
C Walker
Wilbekin
Yeguete
Rimmer
Possibly Young or another big in this class....

I don't know who is responsible for that but I'll try to check around and see. It does need to be changed.

I am had heard from more than 1 that attends practice everyday that says Finney Smith is the best player on this current team, and he's not even allowed to play.
Harris, if he can get all the way back, will be quite a force inside.
If Young returns.....
Don't expect much from Braxton and Graham, but we know what kind of player Wilbekin will be. And we have to expect Hill to be at a very high production level.
Really miss the stretching ability of Murph however, that's what Duke has made their living on for 20 seasons.

Graham I think will develop and would play more if not for two SRs in front of him.
We saw against A&M why these FR don't play more. Turnover machines. Braxton & Walker will get an ear full.
Young may have more nights like last night for the rest of the season and jump, but looking at this entire half year, he isn't ready.

Back from what? There's still nothing but a vague rumor about an illness. Is he recovering from an injury as well?

Harris tore his labrum in fall practice. Or was it a rotator cuff?

Right Maddux - In fact, that caused Tupac, or some other faithful poster to note that this was a Horrible event because they would no longer have his shot-blocking ability in practice to go against.
Following that, Billy D said he hoped to have Harris back on the court by mid January, with luck.
Now, later, I heard that he had contracted some devastating illness (sounded almost like Hepatitus or some such) that had caused him to lose roughly 30 pounds and was intereferring with his shoulder injury recovery.
That was why I posted this Thread, so again I must ASK???
************************************************** ********
************************************************** ********
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHETHER HARRIS IS BACK WITH THE TEAM OR NOT, AND,
IF NOT, DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW HE IS RECOVERING????????????????????????
************************************************** ********
************************************************** ********
Perhaps nothing more than a rumor, but someone must be close enough with the team to know what is up?? Is he attending the Home Games, for example??

Just be glad Harris isn't a baseball pitcher. A torn labrum on a pitcher is one of the few things sports medicine just can't seem to handle these days.

Glad it's just a baseball injury, but it's a shame he didn't get to practice through this entire season. That's made a big difference with transfers in the past. How much of a force to we expect him to be next year? He's likely to be our only true five.

Yes Strange, that is the real loss.
However, a lot of the processes is mental as well as physical, so, hopefully he is gaining the mental experience of the team, and during a year when his forte, defense, is really manifesting.
