Based on his performance against Alabama - I totally agree with this.

Why not blame Notre Dame. They have made some awful choices since Kelly came to town.
From putting a kid on top of a high reach in wind gusts that killed the kid, a rape where the concern was how many games missed, to pushing Manti for Heisman, they have lost all common sense in the chase for former glory.
At least they got to keep the fool in charge and can continue their rise to glory.

According to CNN, the person who pretended to be Lennay Kekua is going to Tweet their side of the story at noon today.
Quote:
Then later Wednesday night came a tweet from @LennayKay -- a Twitter handle that once was associated with Kekua.
"It isn't fair to drag Reagan and Troy into this.. a lot of truths and myths need to be addressed here, and they will be at noon PST tomorrow," the tweet said.

Of course, with several weeks to plan for this, who knows what's real at this point.

"No one bothered to seek out Kekua's family to ask how they felt about the way Te'o was honoring their daughter. Until Deadspin, acting on an anonymous e-mail it received last week, started poking around."
Million dollar question who sent the email?

The other two tweets on the page were retweets from the verified account of Te'o.
"@LennayKay I miss you!" said a November 6 tweet from Te'o's said.
On September 12, Te'o tweeted "@LennayKay you will always be with me wherever I go!"
Now that may be true.

If he wasn't deeply religious, I'd say that was ludicrous-- that a 5 star recruit in this day and age could if not come out openly, could at least avoid having to hide his sexual preference but with his faith and all you have to wonder.

All the media that ran with the story in fall looks pretty ridiculous. SI, ESPN ... Of course, when someone says his girlfriend died, you tend not to go looking for a death certificate.
Maybe they will from now on.

I think this all could have started with a small lie to team mates or local press who kept asking about his personal life, that then spun out of control as Te'o became more and more popular. Obviously, he should have just bitten the bullet during the offseason one year and either come clean or said they broke up or something- but I could totally see just lying to the press about a girl your "seeing" because let's be honest why the hell should the general public know about your personal (see the stupid "are you a virgin" questions Tim had to deal with).

And I'm sure the "dead girlfriend" will blacklist the entire Te'o family. They all are a weird bunch!

Airlines do. Remember the Seinfeld episode where George was trying to get a copy of the death certificate at the wake for the airline discount.
