Walker's disposition and skill set remind me a ton of Bosh at this stage, though he may even be a little more athletic than Bosh, if not quite as big. Great upside and even Kentucky fans know NBA scouts focus on upside almost to the illogical exclusion of other matters like maturity, consistency, etc.

According to their website, Chipley's tallest player is 6'4 and they have a few guys that are 6'3. One of the other things I've found watching high school basketball is kids who are tough, like a high school fullback usually is, will take playing against a guy like Walker as a huge challenge and will get physical and will be given the benefit of a lot of calls because of the height difference. Not saying this was the case, but it's seems probable.
Walker has little to no talent around him at Holmes. He played AAU with Hill and some others and he really excelled. He is raw but a freak athlete for his size. Playing with guys like Hill, Graham and Frazier, who he is familiar with, along with the other talent in Harris, Finney-Smith, etc and Chris is going to be just fine. I'd be very surprised, based on his height and athleticism alone if he is not a one and done. Two year max at worst.
Thanks for the report though. That Chipley team I have heard is a scrappy bunch that likes to run a lot and can score in bunches.

Think this is the case. Put a 6'1 fullback on him and you know he's getting away with a lot of pushing given the height disadvantage. Add hometown refs and you have the makings of a frustrating night for Walker. That said he scored 35 out of his team's 72 points, how is that not impressive?

Realize Beal loved it so much he wanted to come back, but he was so developed it's obvious he was NBA ready.

I think you are talking about either DFS or Prather next year. This is not likely to be Walker with those other two on the team, both of whom have quite the age and experience advantage.

Didn't mean to sound like I was bashing Chris at all. He did have a good game. Like reported, he did get 35 points. I guess I expected him to dominate inside more. He seemed to linger outside a bit in the first half. Came alive in the second half when he scored most of his points. I guess my biggest concern was his lack of a shot and his size. I hope he is the greatest Gator ever. I just don't see one and done.

I don't think anyone thought you were bashing. I think you have to understand why he is so highly recruited and what he is up against at Holmes.
He scored mainly on dunks you said but he didn't dominate inside but he also scored 35? You can see why that might confuse some people.
Just think we need to all understand what Chris brings to the table, which is a more athletic Bosh type player but Bosh when he was at GT, not the NBA.

He is a face up four at the next level. I've never seen him as a three. In our system, he will be a four who gets his points off pick and rolls and pick and pops, as well as off the offensive glass and in transition. I don't think anyone ever suggested he had any real post presence. That's just not his game. He definitely fits the Amare/Bosh/Lee mold better.

Has Bonifay played Malone. This little school in the panhandle is on yet another state championship run. I think they have won more state titles than any team except one.................going back over 50 years. I think they have only lost one game this year --- to a large 5A team in Alabama. There may be some talent there that Billy needs to look at.

Malone hasn't played Bonifay, but they beat Chipley 77-64 earlier this year. Malone is amazing the way they continue to be good year after year. One of Chipley's best players is a Malone legacy. His father is the brother of Derrick Forrest who played at Clemson and his mother is Amp Lee's aunt. Need to keep an eye on him. He is a freshman. Muschamp needs to take a look at the kid who guarding Walker. He is a beast of a fullback. He had four or five thunder dunks in the game.

This kid is the 10th rated player in the nation by ESPN and their basketball recruiting guys that includes some former college coaches, do not make many mistakes on kids these days. If they say after watching him play for the last couple of years in high school and against some of the top competition in the country in AAU ball (where he played with Kasey Hill to win the 18 & under national championship this past AAU season) then I believe he is a big time player. By the way, he also said came out and said right up front when he committed that he only plans to stay at Florida for one year.

I think Walker will share minutes with Yeguette, but he will be a scoring machine for UF, especially with Hill on the floor with him. He expects to be one and done, so the only way he doesn't go early is if he can't handle the boards well enough to keep Yeguette on the bench. I think those two compliment each other very well and provide the opportunity for each to play very hard while they're on the floor. I still expect Walker to eventually get the bulk of the minutes because of his explosive scoring ability.

His potential is through the roof. NBA teams are gonna love the chance to draft Walker...hard to see him stay IMO
