Thurs/Sat BS schedule
I apologize if there is a thread on this, but can the SEC do away with Thurs/Sat already? Or if you play a thursday night game, then your game on sat will be at night as well?
UK and Vandy looked horrible on saturday. Our bench is short enough as is, I hope we can pull it out against A&M.

I don't mind it as long as everybody has to do it.
As mentioned, it is good tournament practice. We're going to have to do it 3 times over the course of 3 weeks if we want to win a national title.

Thats what I say. I'd gladly take a thursday/sat deal every week and think its impact is overblown. If it takes that big a toll, I wonder about the team's makeup. Keep in mind my team just lost on the back end of one of these. I'm fine with it.

The longer than normal (Saturday to Thursday) off time should help us this week....but I'm concerned about the quick turnaround for next Saturday's game.

Well, it turns out to be poorly timed for this year's Gators, although usually, I would agree with REM.
With Rosario, Wilbekin & Murphy hurting, and Prather out likely for both games, there is a greater chance of injury among tired players, and all who play much are likely to be tired on Saturday.
Of course, losing your best defender for the 3 (Prather) really hurts when your opponent has a 3 who put 40 points up against Ky in Lexington.
Bad Timing.

If the SEC takes the money then play the games. I am tickled that nearly all the SEC games are on TV. That is a small price to pay for Thursday/Saturday games.

Yeah, I think everyone has hit all the point here:
1. If you play Thursday, your Saturday game needs to be a late game.
2. It is good NCAA tourney practice, but it needs to be scheduled sparingly and in a balanced way. I would say at Vandy and home to aTm is decidedly easier than at aTm and home to UMo.
3. It is good for the conference and good for fans to have SEC games on TV 3 weeknights each week, but everyone needs to share in this schedule.
4. UF is unfortunate with this timing, but with any luck UF will just be down one guy and UF's two best guard defenders, Wilbekin and Boynton, will be available to cover aTm's guard who went off in Rupp.

The one thing about the tourney games on Thursday and Saturday is aren't they at the same place=no travel? That could be a HUGE difference!

That not only could be but is a huge difference. If a team can handle the two day turnaround with travel, it's actually easier for them in the tourney with no travel involved (depending, of course, on who they're playing and the matchups involved...).

The difference is equity for the two teams participating in the tournament. Both have equal time to prepare for the second game.
Travel is also a consideration if the thurs/sat aren't both at home.

As annoying (and recently skewed in favor of certain teams) as it has been in recent years, we seem to favor pretty well in those scenarios and have won some nice games. Former players have frequently mentioned that games are cakewalk compared to practices, so maybe they have fresher legs without only less practice time!

Perhaps all Thurs/Sat games should be home games. Throw travel in the mix makes it much tougher.
