That's really not the point. There was no reason to go out and get Manning in the first place. Well there was one, Elway just really did not want #15 as the QB of the Broncos and bringing in #18 was the only way he could get rid of him. Instead Denver should have used the 18+ million $$ per year more wisely and upgraded other positions on the team. Yesterday more than proved that ...

Manning-Time? If I had to choose between Manning or Tebow for the last five minutes of that game yesterday I'd have given Tebow the nod. Best QBR in the entire league last year in the last 5 minutes.

Pffft. What a joke. You say that now but if your six figure job was on the line you would have gone out and brought in Peyton Manning too.

the Broncos choked... too much on the line when they weren't challenged the last half of the season. Fox is terrible - better to go out with what got you there than the way they did - no balls at all. Manning is a great qb but he made mistakes because losing was such a terrible prospect for him and Denver. Denver sold their soul to get Manning because Elway wanted to get rid of Tebow and that made them terrified of the possibility that this season wouldn't reach the same level that "hack" Tebow did. Maybe they win it all next year but the pressure will be greater, Manning will be a year older and one good hit away from retirement.
I don't have a problem with Elway wanting a more "traditional" qb. But look around the league at RGIII and Kaepernick and perhaps Denver fans are regretting that horse face is guiding their team's future.

Tennessee won a bunch of games, bowls, and the SEC championship in 1997 with Peyton.
And Peyton carried that team on his back in the SEC Championship game. He would not let them lose.

and he never beat the Gators... 0-4 when it counts in college and 9-11 in NFL playoffs.

Peyton came back for his senior season knowing Wuerfful was gone and the Gators would be down. I guarantee he didn't come back to win what they won that season. Good season, but as usual he came up short.

His arm is clearly on the decline and he can't move. Thirteen wins was nice but there ain't that much time left on the guy.
