Would you prefer 50% winning percent for Tebow, 0% for Manning in Denver Bronco playoff games.

My math skills say Peyton lost in overtime, Tebow won in overtime. Tim has played in one more playoff game than Peyton as well.

Since I said these same things before it happened, you didn't have to believe me then, or believe your own lying eyes now.

But as they always say, scoreboard. Bronco playoff wins, Tebow one, Peyton 0.

Tebow one win out of two, for a 500% winning record in Denver playoff games, you and Petyon zero...

Are you posting in cold weather...
I'm on your side and understand what you're saying but it's .500 (or 50%), not 500%.

When he did that, he took them to the playoffs and won a game in the playoffs, which is more than Manning did this year. Look at who Denver played this year. Any halfway decent QB could have done the same thing. I am sick and tired of the Manning love fest. He is a great human being, but he doesn't have a great arm any more. He is done.
Uhhh, no. Are you serious?

Well, we know that Tebow can do what Kaepernick can do. Or didn't he win a playoff game last year ?

Really??? Do some of you think this? How many MVP's does Manning have? He'll be in the top two for that award again this year.

Full disclosure, I'm a big Peyton fan - think he's great. But, the one person I'd cheer for over him would be Tim Tebow. There's no one I want to succeed more than him. I just don't let this go so far that I lose objectivity and start saying I dont' see much of a difference between him and one of the best QB's of all time.

Not completely accurate.

His only guarantee is the $18MM for this year. The Broncos could cut him after the Super Bowl and not be out any more money.

After that, they have to make a decision by early March. If they keep him for next year, his 2013 and 2014 salaries become fully guaranteed UNLESS he injures his neck during 2013. Any other injury or ineffectiveness doesn't matter, he gets those years guaranteed @ $40MM total.

Then each year after is a 1 year deal they can cut him at any time.

So reality is, his only guarantee at the time of signing is his salary this year.

I do see a difference between the two.
Tebow is younger and stronger.
Tebow won his first playoff game in Denver, despite Elway stacking the deck against him (trading away the team's best receiver right before they let Tebow start for nothing in return) versus Peyton getting whatever help they could get him.
Tebow played for the Gators.
Manning never beat the Gators.

Bottomline is that anyone waiting for me to anoint Manning as the best NFL QB of all time and "admit" that he's far better than Tebow could be if given support will just have to keep waiting.

I will never accept the argument that Tebow can't win as a QB in the NFL unless he's given the standard opportunity every other first round draft pick at QB gets, which is 3-4 years to develop and run the ship.

How about all the Tebow haters finally admitting that he's been unfairly screwed out of that chance by guys like horse face Elway? Seems like the much more obvious admission to me.

On his radio show today Dan Patrick said he got a text from actor Josh Duhamel right after the Denver loss that said, "Playoff wins at Denver: Peyton Manning-0, Tim Tebow-1. Suck it Merril Hodge."

malli,

Yep, I guess I do suck at math....

My problem with so many so far has been comparing Peyton pre-surgery with Tebow. Now that Manning is not the same as before, some just need to understand the change.

They won't even listen to Peyton himself that said he had to build up his legs and core, to compensate for the weaker arm.

You get him moving so he can't set his feet and he can't throw well due to his arm.

Law was right on my math, good for him.

Well, one reason I'll never accept the argument that Tebow can't win as a quarterback in the NFL is because Tebow has won as a quarterback in the NFL.

If he'd won ALL of his games he would have won 100% of them. Its not possible to win more than all of your games. Therefore, the winning percentage cap is set at 100%.

Tim has won half of his playoff games in Denver. Half. That's 50%.

Bottom line is if you have essentially the same team and replace the QB (single most important and influential position) "worst in football" with arguably the best, you should have advanced further than the preceding guy.

For everybody saying Tebow won a playoff game while Manning didn't - they both made it to the Divisional Round, and lost. That doesn't prove anything, but I don't necessarily think that winning a playoff game is some magical achievement.

That said, I think Baltimore exposed Denver's WRs and offensive play-calling a bit, not to mention Champ Bailey's age. Peyton made the receivers look better than they really are this year. Then again, he was also allowed to throw to them a lot more than Tim was. On Saturday, Black & Decker struggled to get open, and Thomas in particular continued to drop catchable balls.

Aside from that, I think McCoy should have used a lot more play-action. Denver ran the ball way too much on first down. The secondary was just bad. Bailey repeatedly got burned by Torrey Smith, and the safeties were out of position a lot.

Denver needs to get better in several areas, but should be a playoff team with Manning for another couple years.

Well, it's certainly not a magical achievement for Tebow, sadly. Seems like he could do with a little magic to demolish the double-standard being foisted upon him.

The NFL has had huge double standards with judging one QB vs. another for many years now. Tebow is just the latest example. Rex was another victim in recent years given his lack of talent around him in Chicago and DC.

Boomer E. said on the radio today that Peyton made some "uncharacteristic" errors. Has he watched Peyton play football as an adult?

I've been a Broncos fan since they traded for Elway. This loss was very disappointing, but I'm not sure the Broncos still wouldn't do the exact same thing if they had the option. Peyton basically had the game won for Denver if the defense didn't choke and give up the bomb.

It's ridiculous to compare the 2, but Manning led the Broncos to a bye, that is essentially a playoff win. Both Tebow and Manning got to and lost in the same game. I think GatorRick said their SOS was bad. Are you kidding? Did you see who they had to play this year?

Tebow was definitely treated poorly by the Broncos (same as he is being treated poorly by the Jets), but Manning is an upgrade any way you look at it.

They will be right back at the top next year.
