I got to go to the practices...
I thought JB was in the lead for the start BUT I'm not a coach & they know a lot more than I do.

This is what gets me too. What coach IN HIS RIGHT MIND would not play his best players? You would have to come up with some weird conspiracy theory to justify holding out his best players for an entire season. Coaches have to be successful to keep their jobs! It would be career suicide.

We were probably around each other a lot without even knowing.

I have no idea whether he got a fair shot or not in the fall but can't imagine them not wanting to put the guy on the field to give them the best chance to win. As far as the spring, CWM has said several times that Jeff was the starter and there was no QB controversy.

I really wish he would stay but I do not blame him. Wherever he lands up, he will better that team. It is just very nice to have a throwing qb with his talent as a back up.

Never got a fair shot here? Unless you think WM was lying, JB and JD started out as equals in an open competition for the starting QB job after the last game of the 2011 season. We were told that throughout spring and fall practice they divided snaps evenly, divided time with the first team evenly, etc. And that continued even into the preparations for the first regular season game - which is longer than most coaches would have gone before naming a starting QB.
At some point a coach has to make a decision about a starting QB. WM apparently made his during half-time of the BG game. But to say Jacoby didn't get a fair shot here is ridiculous unless a "fair shot" to you means continuing to divide time with Jeff into the A&M game and after.

The "opportunity" given to Jacoby in the BG game was disappointing to say the least. I think CWM kind of dropped the ball in his handling of the qb competition. I still like Jeff though.

I'll more than likely be out there again depending on my schedule. I'm working on a major project which may cut into my time spent in Gville. Hopefully it will all work out.

If you're referencing this spring coming up then there would've been an open competition.

So....I was sitting in the stands with ex-Hagerty coaches early last fall at a UCF game and they told me.........d'oh! Never mind.
I have a ton of respect for Muschamp for managing that locker room this year, and last.

I hope Matt deletes that, but then again maybe he knows something that we don't.

I hope Dunbar has gotten over his outright preference too, because Brissett won't be back. This isn't Jacoby's fault — he didn't try to create a division, and he handled everything with class. But some current/former players are making a real bad impression. I don't know what Elam would know that could change anything. It's not like our coaches are racist.

Friends or not, you don't throw a former teammate under the bus. The Heisman tweet was fine. The other one wasn't

May have been reason #1 the offense wasn't clicking this year. If there were chemistry issues, you can bet that some guys aren't going to be making the same effort when their preferred QB is on the bench. Was really thinking we avoided that this year. Guess not.

Saying that being a Driskel lover is a "sad story." Somebody loving your QB should never be a sad story.
