The Confederate Flag has 13 stars on it. The neutral states part in the war of northern aggression is quite interesting.

Appreciate the history lesson. Just starting to read up more on the civil war. Any good recommendation for books to read? I'm ashamed to admit I didn't learn much of this in high school.

There is historical fact and data to show otherwise. Also it wasn't football that was being discussed. It was conference alignment that turned to how certain schools fit culturally.
There are parts of Missouri that is redneck heaven. Just like parts of Ohio and Michigan are. I've been to all of them by the way. The biggest rednecks I've ever encountered are Ohioans. Being a redneck doesn't make someone Southern. It makes them a redneck

Beamer and the Va Tech admin want no part of the SEC. How many decades did it take for them to get into the ACC? Nope, they'll leave only when they have no choice.

The ACC is a sinking ship. They can choose to get on a luxury liner or go down in a dinghy.

I'm not a "buff" but I enjoyed this one:

It's lighter fare, but as far as I know legit and might be good for someone just starting out.

Thanks for that cogent lesson. Kansasans certainly treated Missourians like they were confederates (and vice versa). Though I'd hate to hold Quantrill and Anderson up as any kind of heros. There's a fine line between partisan and psychopath.
And you're absolutely right...has there ever been a bigger redneck than The Hick from French Lick?
For those interested, I would recommend this as the best, most even-handed (and Pulitzer winning) book on the Civil Wa: James McPherson's Battle Cry of Freedom

You're wrong and I know it for a fact. My guess is you have probably never been to either place. I suggest saving some money and taking a trip one of these days before forming an opinion of something your not quite accurate on.

Culturally Mizzou fits with red-neck states just fine.. if that's your thing. Have you ever been there? It's red-neck heaven.

Exactly. The ones stating otherwise have no clue what the hell they're talking about.

I really do not want anymore teams being added the SEC. It will only split up some of the great rivalries. It is by far the toughest conference to win without adding more.

That is one risk averse group. They belong with the Noles and the rest of the Nation of the minimaphallus.

I suggest you go to Blacksburg on gameday. I've been there several times. It is more SEC than most SEC schools.
