Awful game. Should be in overtime. Kentucky ends up getting to call it a win but its far from a good sign.

Haha, how about Bobby Knight not understanding the shot/game clock though! He's losing it. Thought he had some good points along the way, but just like UK, couldn't put together a full 40 minutes.

Vandy's bigs are not athletic. The one big got the ball in great position in front of the basket and was such a wimp, he passed it out.

Considering the crap that they have let Stallings get away with (holding the ball from Noah) in the past, I'm suprised that they didn't give in and take another look at it.

Nothing worse than giving a crybaby like Stallings something legitimate to gripe about.

Knight brought up some good points about why UK was struggling against Vandy's zone and also some of the things that Vandy was failing to do on offense.

Kentucky just doesn't look like a very smart team right now. It almost got them beat tonight against a team that is several levels below them in the talent department. Cal has his work cut out with them to get them to play smarter.

Yeah I agree. This didn't look like Cal's best night either. I'm all for letting young kids play through struggles sometimes, but after 4 minutes of not scoring against the zone I think some more timeouts were in order. We're usually better than that against a zone. Poythress is source of frustration also.

The best thing about the Vandy game is, is that it is over!! A win on the road is great but we have tons of work to do.

I'll take that bet. Can't believe all the comments I see about UK not even making the tournament. I am not calling for a 3 seed or anything. But a 10? Really, you don't see that happening? Remember, teams are never as good as they look or as bad as they look. Somewhere in the middle is a lower seed tourney team for UK. Pick your terms.

LOL--Kentucky will be just fine--it is a marathon and not a sprint. They will learn to put the screws to a team and not let them back in. We have talent just have to put it all together and it will take time. I will take a win on the road in conference play anytime I can get it.

I think this is a three bid league, with UF, Missouri an UK making it. I don't think Ole Miss will be there in the end. All three teams should be a five seed or better, but outside of them (unless someone breaks through like the Poodles did a few years back), I don't believe anyone else makes it.

Kentucky's only quality win right now is over Maryland. Maryland has an RPI of 87, an SOS of 263, and just lost to a mediocre Florida State team at home. They have one other win versus the Top 200 - Vanderbilt.

People honestly think this team is a lock to make the tournament? Their resume is mediocre at best right now; Ole Miss is probably in better shape than they are at the moment. They'll need a very good conference season to even get in the tournament. They've looked capable of doing so at different times this season, but they won't be able to play on the road like they did last night or they'll pick up some bad losses in conference play. If that happens, you can pencil them into the NIT. Unless, of course, the Selection Committee selects them simply because of their name and the $$$ that they'll bring in.

I'm partially to blame as I didn't fully read the original post that I initially responded to. I don't believe that Ole Miss would get a third bid over Kentucky. UK has way too much talent and Cal is too good of a coach to not get in. I fully expect them to improve and they should be a fifth seed or better.

I think the conference has a lot of average teams that will beat each other up. We may have an alltime high of NIT teams this year.

My opinion is that the top teams in the league split with each other, with road wins becoming scarce.

It's important to note, even though I don't think much of what we have this year in the SEC, any of these teams can beat you on their home floor if you don't show up. That's why I have maintained that noone will sweep the league this year.
