Appreciate the history lesson. Just starting to read up more on the civil war. Any good recommendation for books to read? I'm ashamed to admit I didn't learn much of this in high school.

Beamer and the Va Tech admin want no part of the SEC. How many decades did it take for them to get into the ACC? Nope, they'll leave only when they have no choice.

Thanks for that cogent lesson. Kansasans certainly treated Missourians like they were confederates (and vice versa). Though I'd hate to hold Quantrill and Anderson up as any kind of heros. There's a fine line between partisan and psychopath.
And you're absolutely right...has there ever been a bigger redneck than The Hick from French Lick?

You're wrong and I know it for a fact. My guess is you have probably never been to either place. I suggest saving some money and taking a trip one of these days before forming an opinion of something your not quite accurate on.

I really do not want anymore teams being added the SEC. It will only split up some of the great rivalries. It is by far the toughest conference to win without adding more.

I suggest you go to Blacksburg on gameday. I've been there several times. It is more SEC than most SEC schools.
