I hate to admit it but FSU has a great athletic program these days.

Not even close. Ben Hill Griffin is consistently more full than Ron Zook Field.

I suggest you take a trip to Missouri. Far from your "Yankee" feeling state.

Ultimately, the UF administration and athletic department are going to do what is best for UF. And we are missing an important piece of information:
How much do TV revenues increase when you ad two more quality TV draws to the SEC?
The SEC is the dominant conference in college football already. They can cement that domination even further with a couple more quality teams. TV revenues will go even higher per team.
We need that projected TV revenue number before knowing how UF would vote on this issue. We also need to factor in BCS bowl and playoff slots and money consideration before knowing the positives and negatives of such a move. The SEC obviously has information on this issue that we don't have, and SEC will consider that info in any expansion talks. These types of projections have been integral considerations in past expansion.

Exactly. I grow weary of those that don't realize Missouri has strong Southern roots and ties. To say Missouri is Yankee is to say Kentucky is Yankee. These same people also think WV is Southern.

I think I got the gist of Gatordone's post.
Update:
FSU still sucks.

Sure, but look at who they expanded with the last time. What factors drove those selections? That was very recently and you see the same dynamics in play with the big10 expansion strategy. Mizz and A&M weren't selections driven by the quality of the FB team, they were TV market footprint decisions.

The OP cannot disclose the name of his source, but it has something to do with the abbreviation STAB.

That's pretty funny. Was it Cowherd that did that? He threw out that acronym

I know how message boards work: mostly bs with some truth sprinkled in.
Anyone coming back to give us updates about FSU in heavy discussion with Mike Slive to join the SEC and the legitimate media knows NOTHING about it, how shall I say it, gives me pause.

Again I hope this does not come to fruition but I think some stuff is definitely going on and major discussions are taking place per my conversation

Nope. Have a call in to the guy
Man a tough crowd. Obviously won't do this again
Only reason I did was because this was the same guy that new Pruit and Walker were on campus together and he knew Walker committed 2 days before story broke. Thought if it was true it'd be cool to post on swamp gas where people didn't have to pay a premium for info like that.
Man did I make a mistake.

The Walker story was on the Nole insider boards, it turned up other places and didn't take an insider to know, unless you count someone who plunks down a few dollars a month as an insider.
