Default Beal Blurb

From an ESPN Insider Article about top rookies

Quote:
Bradley Beal, Wizards
2013 has been good to Beal. He has scored 22 or more points in three of his five games this year and is averaging over 18 PPG in January. Factor in that he has improved his scoring in each month (11 PPG in November, 13 PPG in December), with improved shooting in each month, as well.

Last year with the Gators, he found his perimeter shooting later in the season, helping to spark their Elite Eight run. We're seeing the same thing now. Beal made just 32.7 percent on 3s in November, dropped to 18.4 percent in December, and has made 14 of 25 3s in 2013 (56 percent).

His steady play with the ball in his hands is already strong for a rookie, so when the Wizards get hot shooting from him, it convinces them they were right to take him at No. 3. And when he makes a brilliant game-winning floater, as he did to beat OKC on Monday night, it gives them an idea of what kind of player he can become: a primary scoring threat with abilities to hurt teams all over the court.

One thing stands out about Beal no matter how he is shooting: He has a calmness and an awareness about him that screams "poise." It is a rare gift to have at his age.

just like at UF, it will take the unselfish Beal a little time to mature into his position

glad to see him doing well
