Default I see complaining works???

Well after not having a single Thurday-Saturday on the schedule last year which prompted lots of talk by other coaches, I see UK has the first one one the schedule this year. I am not sure if this has come up on some other UK thread as I do not read all of them as the sometime become repetitive.

I am glad to see the SEC office responding to the members when the members are correct and the SEC office was favoring a particular team in scheduling.

I think it also worked in our favor this year too. I believe we had 3 last year and only 1 this year. I know it's hard to turnaround that quickly during the grind of confernce play but it's not necessarily the worst thing in the world as it helps you prepare somewhat for the schedule of the tournament.

The SEC still gave them a pretty easy schedule. They only have to play Missouri once and it is a UK home game. The Missouri/UK match up also occurs immediately after Missouri faces us and UK faces Vandy.

Their Thursday-Saturday games involve a short road trip to Vandy followed by a home game vs. Texas A&M. Our Thursday-Saturday games involve a long road trip to A&M followed by a game against Missouri.

I'd gladly take a schedule full of thursday/saturday turnarounds and have a team that much more used to them come march. Any difference in difficulty - and resulting record - is canceled out by the randomness of tournament draws.

Keep in mind that UK has scheduled themselves tough OOC thursday/saturday turnarounds the last few years (haven't seen UF do that). Last year ending in North Carolina and this year (two losses) Notre Dame and Baylor. Last time I checked, those games can affect a teams record just like conference ones can. Obviously UK/Cal doesn't care as much about playing in these games as most of you (and other league coaches) do.

I refer you back to the threads where it was a possibility that Florida might not play Kentucky home and home and ever Florida fan was up in arms.

You can't have it both ways.

Plus the Thursday/Saturday prepares you for the NCAA Tourney. It sure as hell will not hurt Kentucky's win loss record.

UK could have played every two days last year and would have still dominated.

UF actually has done quite well on the Thursday/Saturday turn arounds the last two seasons, possibly unbeaten in these games. I think the entire issue was that the league did not schedule one for UK and that smacked of bias.

Perhaps you haven't paid attention. Florida scheduled three OOC games in a six day period this year, including Georgetown and Wisconsin. They played Ohio St, then a lesser team from NC two days later in 2010. In 2009 they played FSU, MichSt, and Rutgers during a five-day span, including the later two on consecutive days.

No, I've paid attention, although I was only talking about the last two years - the time period people have been complaining about these quick turnarounds.

You didn't do a turnaround like this last year. This years example you give featured Georgetown in the first game (where you're not handicapped - in theory) and a cupcake Alabama State in the quick turnaround game. Wisconsin was 3 days later, not 2.

Keep in mind though, last year we did the research and found that UF had performed significantly better in SEC games following only 1 day off than they did in SEC games with more rest. The whole complaint here doesn't even add up. Its for fans trying to find favoritism and coaches (KStallings) who cry about everything anyway.

Well, you could just admit you were wrong, but in typical fashion, refuse to do so. You defended UK's OOC scheduling, which is fair, but provided zero details. You took a swipe at UF's scheduling, but proved to be ignorant on the matter. If you were referring to two years, you may write written as such, in stead of "few." Three games in six days is comparable to the discussion, esp. when including the likes of Wisconsin and G'Town. If you feel the need to take a swipe at UF's scheduling while defending a rival's program on our board, you should bring facts. Here are some facts wrt to schedule strength:
UF currently rates just above UK in SOS.
CBS places UK well below UF.
In 2011-12, UK was only two spots above UF.
In 2010-11, UK was 11 spots above UF.
In 2009-10, UF was four spots above UK.
Keep in mind that this thread is about UK actually having to do something in conference this year that UF did three times last year. There is no need to take a swipe at our non-conference scheduling.

Not sure why this is so hard to understand for you. There is no evidence that a thursday/saturday split is a disadvantage (at least for your team). Therefore, its just as much something that UF was lucky to do last year as it is something they "had to do."

I mentioned that I'm just talking about the last 2 years because thats all the research I did. You're getting into semantics with the "few" comment. Sure, "couple" would have been better. You win.

You then link a bunch of stuff that has nothing to do with this discussion. Hope you feel better. Its irrelevant to this discussion as I am not lauding Uk's scheduling over Florida's - only contesting the disadvantage of two games in three days.

I didn't take a swipe at UF's non conference scheduling. I said UK did something (voluntarily) that UF didn't do in the last 2 years. This would be a swipe if I'd EVER said this was a better or a brave thing to do or that teams that don't do it are scared. Florida typically dominates after just 1 day rest.

Oversensitivity and inaccuracy arent' flattering on you. You'd be much better off going back to your naturally optimistic/cheerful ways instead of embarrassing yourself like this.

I don't think it's a question of how well UF or any other conference team did on their Thurs/Sat turnaround games last season, it was the fact that UK didn't have one two day turnaround which, as InstiGATOR1 stated, smacked as favoritism from the conference.

Again, zero details from the UK fan. The evidence provided regarding SoS is relevant because you chose to snipe at the UF schedule. You made it relevant. You make comments such as "hard to understand for you," "aren't flattering," and "embarrassing yourself," yet provide no substantiation for your argument. You are wrong about so many things, including
