Looks like the cats out of the bag with Ryan Timmons. Staff told him if they miss on Clark he gets an offer. I hope we get a visit out of Timmons.

I dont either but Timmons would be a nice replacement. Different skill set, but still a very good prospect for the slot

Hopefully GC's "75%" is accurate in terms of our chances for Clark, Timmons is athletic but reminds me a lot of WRs we already have committed. Not a bad thing, but Clark's speed puts him in a league of his own.
Call me a "Meyer Lover" but I was absolutely delighted when UF was considered the fastest team in college football and I'd like us to get that title back.

Timmons and Bailey have a lot of similar traits. Meyer is also looking at Timmons not sure he has a commitable offer from them

Thanks for your input, welcome to the boards.
Now I played quarterback in a pickup game yesterday, that has nothing to do with the OP. He said, and I quote "Bostic was a safety when he signed", he was not. He was an All-State linebacker. While you may have seen him earlier in his career at other positions, that was not what he was brought to UF to do. I just thought the poster was being misleading, either unintentionally or not.

I like taking a chance on a local kid b/c they typically play their hearts out and do anything the coaches ask.

A quick sidestory, if you will. We all know that our previous coach never filled up an entire class and had us running lean, well below the max allowable. There were years where said coach did exactly as the OP mentioned, gave one last scholarship to a kid that had a near career-ending injury, or to a kid that admittedly would be a "project", at least one of which is still on the team. Anyway, you guys probably remember the sad story a couple years ago of a kid from Navarre High School named Ian Lockwood, tough football player who was all Gator, diagnosed with brain cancer. Players like Tebow and Ahmad Black and the previous coach visited him at Shands when he was there getting treatment. Anyway, this amazing kid had an obviously terminal illness, was not expected to live more than a year, and did succumb to his disease. I always thought the classiest thing our coach could have done was to offer this kid a UF scholly (as we had plenty to burn) while he was alive, knowing it probably would not be used for more than a year. For some reason, we did not. IMO, we had our Chucky Mullins moment and whiffed.

He was still in high school when all that went down. He actually passed away during his senior year. Meyer might have done something like that, but we have no way of knowing.

Let's just say I'm in a position to know about something like that, and it didn't happen. Plus, the press would have eaten that up, we ALL would have heard about it.

Yeah, I know what you're saying. I didn't mean that he might have already done it. I meant that in the future he may have - after Signing Day or if the kid was healthy enough. Would have been an even better ending to an already great/sad story.

He's the Ol to FSU, correct? I'd rather have the LB and the defensive depth.
