Don't know how Sabin evaluates toughness but Barrett Jones played the NCG knowing he had a broken bone in his foot. He was operated on yesterday I believe. To correct an earlier response about Jones not being heavily recruited, UM went after him with everything he had and couldn't turn him away from the bad guys. He was highly ranked coming out of HS.

Jones was the 2008 "mystery recruit" if memory serves. The one that never happened.

I'll play along. So explain how this bias works.

I think Dillman, our strength coach, is the best we've had in a long, long time. I could be wrong... But Olympic training is pretty scientifically based. Additionally, Regular training, while decent doesn't get all the muscles that the Olympic regime does. It give you that brute force strength so you can get that burst of strength and toss someone five yards or overpower them vs curl them.
Also, some of the strongest looking guys aren't always the strongest. Sometimes there's wasted muscle mass. It's pretty hard to not get bigger doing this stuff but the brute strength Dillman teaches from the Olympic training is far superior.
We outlasted every team this year. Our only error was turnovers-certainly not strength and conditioning. sht happens. Go Gators.

And with the help of an experienced receiver coach in Joker Philips, and the prototypical type receivers, better/stronger offensive lineman..... We'll get a whole lot better next year, and the year after that.

Yes trust me that's why I am telling you I have trained people before he's just on an heavy fat/carb diet, there is absolutely no steroids involved with him... Just pizza, burgers, ice cream, and soda.... Regardless of size ( being heavier ) steroids would leave somewhat of a significant marking somewhere on your body whether bigger chest, arms, very broad shoulders, or a gut 6 pack... He has none of those attributes... Also while on steroids your vascularity is way more visible by excessive amounts of veins constantly blowing out even after resting for 20 hours, veins coming out your shoulders, upper back, and forehead are just a few to tell...

Go back and look at the size of the players their last year of high school, then their size for their first game at Bama, 20 to 30 pounds of muscle would be tough to put on in 3 months without chemical assistance.

Not sure what's in the H2O, but I stopped there last week for a McDonald's, now I'm growing balls out of my forehead.

I doubt that Bama has the biggest and strongest players. This reminds me of the post-Nebraska trauma: "They was big ol' cornfed boys!" No they weren't. They were smaller than we were.

This is what I think too. He's a fifth year senior and he should be a beast. The ones (lineman) that baffle me are the sophomores and red-shirt freshman that are all "blowed-up" and strong as oxen.

I've gained 15 in a month and a half with no assistance and I'm barely 6'0... Now you take a kid that has had barely a well known workout regimen in high school, put him on a very high calorie/carb/protein diet, where he is eating 6 possibly 7 meals a day, and him being at 6'4/6'5, and with a strength & conditioning coach ( which most are probably put them through olympic/heavy lifting styles ) yea it's easier than one expected, put your body through such intensive plans when its never been it would actually shock it and massive gains are very capable.... Now I am 100% positive players in college do steroids but some don't gains are not impossible, just because you've never experienced dont doubt it, it's been done...

On the field, you mean. The rednecks in the stands, however, do more than make up for this.

My point was the rule of averages would keep some of them not as cut as they look, Maybe the ones who cannot build up quick are the ones who are one and done there.

Nebraska pioneered the S&C program in college football. First program to designate one. Late 60's I believe. Boyd Epley was way ahead of his time. Epley is to S&C what Bill Walsh was to offensive football.

Me too.
Oh wait, I guess pancakes and ice cream would be considered "assistance."

Yes, Bama's strength coach is young, animated, lively and gets big results...versus ours..who doesn't.

I can't wait until we can see what he does with a guy after he's had him for 3 years.

And oddly enough, the Husker S&C program was nothing fancy. They beat us with discipline, finesse (yes, I said that) and being smaller and faster at key positions.
