Just because you don't remember Tebow's naysayers in 07 does not mean they were not around. Hell do you remember the cries for Tebow over Leak in 06 (they were loud in the swamp on more than a few occasions) and it was embarrasing.

The point remains the same, agree or disagree with the examples. For some the starter is always a target unless they are going 35/40 for 400yrds and 5 TDs. Same as with the crowd that is always screaming unless UF beats every team 52-7. Sorry if you did not follow from the begining.

It's an axiom of football at all levels that the backup QB is the most popular player on the team. You've said nothing new there and I understood--and generally agreed with--the point from the beginning. It's only your poor and shifting examples that have caused any confusion. And the fact that you think I've made any comments about Driskel here, pro or con, until my last message.

As I said, if I mistook your comments to regard Driskell, sorry (that's twice now) I perhaps just read something into it.

As far as "poor and shifting examples" well dude that's your op, just because you don't remember people complaining about Tebow over Leak(06), Newton over Tebow(07), and just about anybody over Brantley (10). Just about every year there is some faction complaining, just because you don't remember or don't agree it that's your issue.

Bang the drum all you want, but there was no outcry for Cam to replace Tim. In 2007 Cam was terrible in his few snaps and a major work in progress. Tim got some fleeting criticism that year, but no one thought Cam was ready to do anything other than handoff or scramble. Your other examples are just fine and right on. But why you keep coming back to 2007 Cam I can't fathom.

And I'll apologize for not catching your apology the first time. To be honest, it came across as I had somehow been unclear rather than you were reading something in that I never wrote or implied. But if it was sincere, then it's completely accepted and appreciated.

I was being sincere regarding misinterpreting your other remarks, to be honest I had lumped your comments in with that of another poster...

The original point that I was trying to make is that almost always there are hypercritical people who bitch about the starting QB regardless of how well or poor the QB plays. I think you can agree there? Tebow in 2008 and 2009 was the exception I think not only because he was such a good offensive weapon but because UF only lost 1 reg season game in that time span. The other exception was DW in 95-96 for the same reason. Bottom line if the team is winning handily naysayers have little to bitch about. Perhaps the Tebow/Cam 07 was not the best example but in the last 17 yrs there are prob only about 5-6 seasons when the naysayers actually shut up RG in 2001 comes to mind.

why would he go to a place where the QB is leaving and someone new is guaranteed to be the starter next season? Would think he would be better off going to a school where the QB will be a senior next season.
