Meyer(CUM) did not have the intestinal fortittude (ala Gordon Solie for the elder gators) to weather the storms to each year to fight for championships. CUM's statement after the debacle in 2010 was the program is broken, it will take alot of work to fix it and I will get to work to fix the UF football program. A week later , CUM resigns to spend time with family a la HORSE SH

Funny how folks want to make fun of him, but he was very close to doing exactly what Saban just did last night with winning 3 titles in 4 years.

How about simply that gimpy lying coach. That's more apt for Meyer IMO.

Well stated, squad leader.
To treat Meyer like he's as bad as Lane Kiffin robs us of truly enjoying the absolute horror that befell the Volunteer faithful as a result of the Human Dumpster Fire.
Program of the Decade, folks. That's what we got from Coach Meyer. If Boom can get us two rings, he can leave the same way as Meyer. I'll take that deal every time.

on these tv broadcasts, meyer is too stiff and technical. He needs to loosen up with less technical coach speak.

Because Meyer was there soley to share his coaching wisdom and he revealed his vast knowledge.
Brian Kelly put his foot in his mouth too, with his response of bammer not coming out for the 2nd half.

Face it. He is a much better coach than a sport commentator.

I've never thought Meyer was very good as a TV commentator. But I thought it was really funny at the end of the halftime show when he was asked a question about what he'd do or what Kelly could do about something (don't remember exactly what the question was), he gave an answer, and then that idiot Desmond Howard almost laughed at the answer and proceeded to talk about how wrong Meyer was.
Right Desmond, you don't have the brains of turnip but you're telling one of the best coaches in college football (regardless of what we think of him) that he doesn't know what he's talking about. At that point you'd think Howard might have been a little humble, considering that before the game he said “To be honest, I don’t think the SEC had a defense this season comparable to Notre Dame’s.” But no, he just basically told Meyer that Meyer didn't know what he was talking about.
Sorry for the rant but I can't stand Desmond Howard, the guy has always seemed totally clueless to me.

Haven't criticized him and didn't watch the exchange or any talking head commentary at half time (TV on mute, out of the room doing more important things).
But if he were asked a straight up question like that - unless he was a Up Nawth homer or something (Oh no ! That couldn't be, could it ?) - he should have simply said something like: ND is simply overmatched in this game and has no answer for the Alabama offense or the Alabama defense. They should try to make as many adjustments as possible at the half (give examples, if any, on either side of the ball, if he could have thought of any) to try to exploit what narrow window of opportunity might be available, and try to get Alabama out of rhythm (or some other sports cliche'-like saying).
His eyes weren't lying, but he did not have the kahunas to man up and admit what he was seeing - that everybody else in the universe, including the ND coach - was seeing.
Now if he went wimp and didn't want to trash the game because of the unspoken rule of not being negative and driving away the TV audience, I could give him a little wiggle room. But, it's probably more of the former, than the latter.

Urb knew he was going to be the Sweet Brown Sugar to the Dusty Rhodes of the SEC. His face would have been a "crimson mask"

There has to be 50 coaches or excoaches out there with a more entertaining delivery than UM. He undoubtedly spent more time recruiting in South Florida than he did preparing for the NCG.

Hate is one thing.
Valid criticism is quite another.
