Easy answer--he played for ND and had a special story. Pretty much explains it.
While he may indeed be good kid and a heartfelt story about his grandmother and gf--his LB play (all year) was not enough to warrant Heisman consideration AT ALL. There are many other defensive players much more deserving of the consideration--Clowney, Jarvis Jones are two which are FAR better on the def than Te'o.
Not even in the same league IMO.
