They went 38 years between the two they won. And that 1942 championship was won in WWII when most schools fielded club teams.
We're at year 32 now, so 2018? I'll be 53, not quite retirement!

As it is, I'd rather Georgia win a title and see someone different hold it than watch Alabama win about a dozen and give recruits no reason to go anywhere else, including Florida. At this point, there's no reason to go anywhere else other than Alabama.

They'll be contenders again in 2013. Their defense won't be great but they'll average 40+ per game with their loaded offense.

Are you in Eastern Europe?
I'd rather see Bama win 40 in a row than see UGA win one.

We disagree. I'd rather see UGA win its first in 30 years than Bama win its third in four.

I'm sorry, but I've lived through too many heartbreaking losses to those maingy mutts and no way, NO HOW as a Gator Fan would I EVER root for those butt-sniffers to ever win a BCS Nat'l Championship. You'd have to waterboard this here Gator Fan to get that!

That wouldn't have changed. Alabama was still going to get theirs, win or lose to UGay. This is called status quo. UGay winning gives them added cache' and, IMO, would actually have a negative affect on our recruiting. Bama winning changes nothing. We are still the team on the rise, UGay is still the consumate underachiever. All - except the Sugar Bowl loss - is good.
Plus, on a visceral level, I just cannot stomach the thought of a bunch of neck-ass, barking DB's celebrating a NC.

Living in Georgia, it would be unbearable for UGA to win a title.
It's bad enough that we lost badly this year. Having them win a title on top of that would just be too much.

This. The more Bama wins, the more it becomes a Bama thing rather than an SEC thing. Also, 5 of those 7 titles are now SEC West titles. I'd like to see the momentum swing back our way.

The operative word here.
IMO, a UGa win hurts OUR recruiting more than an Alabama win.
Please do not use this word when discussin UF and UGa. They are not our brothers, our kin or even our friends.

I love it. They were good enough for Richt to stay...Though I respect him as a man...I don't think he is a championship coach...So this is perfect. The status quo in Athens. Moral victories are all they get.

Playing Notre Dame was like winning the lottery. UF, UGA, SCAR, TAMU, BAMA & LSU would all be holding the crystal ball if given that opportunity.

In the end, Georgia is still Georgia.
Prefer them to Alabama all you want, but they will remain Georgia.
Once again, they are the SEC's beautiful losers.
Only Georgia could foul up clock management in a championship game.
Spike the ball, let the line get set and your quick pick out to the sideline is a TD, not a tipped ball.
Only at Georgia.
When I was a kid, we would hand them a win almost every year, just to watch them screw up against Auburn or UT or Alabama or G-Tech.
But they would brag all year long like those loses never happened.
Beautiful losers.
This year, they may have very well fielded the most talented team in college ball.
Yet, they made it to the championship game because we handed it to them.
Just to watch them screw it all up at the end of the game.
We all know if Georgia wasn't Georgia they would have spiked the ball to get the line set. They would have completed a TD pass to an open receiver and undoubtedly stomped ND for the BCS NC.
But Georgia is Georgia, and they screwed it up.
So here we go again, another year of listening how they "Beat" us, but we know they still won nothing, although they should have.
Beautiful losers.
So don't bother yourself with worrying Alabama won another title. Georgia never had a chance.
Because Georgia is Georgia.
Beautiful losers.

Then don't ever complain when every kid we're recruiting picks Bama over us. There's no reason to go anywhere else if they're winning in a dynasty-like way.

They have two National Championships. Your post reads as if they have zero. As for pure talent, Alabama still has more, IMO. Georgia only had 70 players on scholarship this year. To damn near make it to the MNC game with 70 players on scholarship is a pretty good season, IMO.

I agree that he's not an elite coach but he's given a lot more grief than deserved, IMO. He now has 8 10+ win seasons in 12 years and an 8-4 bowl record. Not at Saban or Meyer's level but you're kidding yourself if you think Muschamp gets canned for a similar 12 year run. I'd take it right now.
