RG III, can he make it in the league?

I love the kid, in fact all 3 rookie playoff qb's are something special. He's good enough to make it I think as a pocket passer, and in his case will have to somehow scale back his running to stay healthy enough to have a long career. He's not a big guy, and the season took a toll on his legs. They need to tell him to quit running so much, and scramble, not run it. He wasn't all that effective today of his injuries.

He can make it, but Washington needs to help, the first step should be replacing their field with fake turf, looked like a mud hole, just waiting to take a knee down.

But Id like to say that he can, but something has to give somewhere. He cant keep taking the hits he gets himself into. I put some of this on the trainers and DR. He should have been on the sidelines. He looked bad limping all over the field.

He's not very big. The Skins went overboard with re-creating his college system in the pros. They've got a real good RB now and several good receivers not to mention a good, but injured, TE. Skins offense might have peaked this year since they gave away a lot of draft picks to get him.

Injury looked bad especially given that he had on a protective brace and it occurred non contact making a simple move like D. Rose in Chicago. His ligaments are like linguine right now. Hope he heals up.

I think he will be fine. He does need to learn that one extra yard isn't worth his career. You have to admire his guts and will to win however. Great player and seems like a heck of a guy also.

I think he's the most exciting QB in the NFL. Unfortunately I don't see him lasting long running around like that. Plus, it appears Mike Shanahan coached the West Canaan Coyotes years ago.

His knee is probably done. Kid wont last three years in the NFL. He is too stubborn.

Wilson had more td's before the game, and won on the road. Yet he is still considered not as good as the one with more media coverage.

Griffin was the most babied of the rookie quarterbacks - led the league in passes under 5 yards, parts of his college offense merged into the playbook, etc. That's not a knock on him, by the way. I think the Shanahans just used a 180° approach than Indy did with Luck (asking him to throw the ball 40+ times a game and take his lumps). Time will tell which approach was better. Personally, I would lean towards the latter. If you think you're going to have the kid for 10 years, be willing to sacrifice his first letting him learn which throws he can and can't make and hope he learns quickly.

To me the question isn't talent, but longevity. He has already shown he has the talent to be a difference maker, but he also has already shown a lack of durability. I also believe one of the reasons he has been a difference maker is his running ability. Defences have to play the run and the pass differently. Unfortunately, what makes him great also makes him vulnerable. After only one season, I think the question is "can he last", and/or "can he be an effective QB if he isn't a running threat?"
