Default Media lies. Make 250k or more? Your taxes just went up 4.4% or more.

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000...p_mostpop_read

For many of the posters on this board, you just got screwed. Go back and look at your tax returns prior to 2010. If you made more than 250k, you were losing a significant amount of deductions and even if you didn't itemized, you could not even take the full value of having two children and a wife. 2010 renewed those deductions.

Poof they are gone.

Taxes on families with two kids making over 250 will now lose those deductions and more. Can't wait for the blue state Obama drones to begin figuring this out. It will cost a couple making 300k over 14k more in taxes.

The entire deduction maneuver is nothing more than a scam to insist higher income people get a break on taxes because of deductions when they don't. Right now you can't even deduct the cost of your son's tution when making above 150k, but the slackers and lower income people can. Add the AMT.

A flat tax would expose this lie. Liberals know this. Once again, the MSM have ignored this part of the deal.

My solution: work less and cut your spending. It's not worth it anymore to start a business or climb the corporate ladder.

Business creation. Poof. Lowest in decades.

Give to charity for a the tax deduction?

Poof. Gone. Maybe those charities can apply for government grants.

Buy a second home or bigger house because of the deduction? Don't do it.

Poof. The housing recovery dies.

The transition to the European model is in full swing. Chronic high unemployment with little job innovation, no kids, no charitable giving and a road to another Great Depression. The Slackers, many of whom are government employees, win in Europe.

After 250k, the money isn't worth the stress in most circumstances.

Now, it makes even more sense to dial it down to enhance your quality of life.

I want to adopt the liberal credo, force someone else to pay the bills.

If I recall, during the last presidential campaign it was Mitt Romney who proposed raising revenue by capping deductions. I do not recall NC Bull, the WSJ or any other conservatives objecting at the time. If it was good policy three months ago, why isn't the cap on deductions good policy now?

So strange how you weren't yammering about "paying the bills" during that time. Guess ya just wanted someone ELSE to do the paying.

Hypocrisy can be such an amusing thing.
You are delusional.

To begin with, Obama has DOUBLED the deficits of W. Indisputable FACT.

Secondly, if you hadn't been a Johnny Come Lately, you would know I was against the War from Day One. BTW, how many liberals voted against it? They almost entirely voted for it.

As well as the Presciption Drug Coverage expansion. But if you were against that, how come you are for the greatest expansion of the entitlement state ever, Obamacare? Who is the hypocrite now?

And where are the liberals who are demanding budget cuts? Better look up the definition of hypocrite again.

And who paid the bills the last decade and who will pay the future bills? Not the liberal slackers. It will be the children who have ambition and will make over 100k. You wouldn't want to compare tax bills in the decade with mine.

The ambitious need to dial it down. Learn from the slackers.

So you think I agreed with MRomney? Ditto for the Medicare reform he was proposing.

A flat tax is easy to administer and reveals what each of us really pays in taxes. If enacted, it would easy to expose how little in taxes many liberals really pay while freeloading off the work of their neighbors.

Lots of deductions still there for those who stop bitching long enough to enjoy them. Just heard a long list that remain, from a one year extension on debt forgiveness, to five years on several other deductions and some deductions that became permanent.

We make about $120K and are paying more because of Obama. Health Insurance co pays and out of pockets plus monthly cost are up and going higher. Ditto food and energy costs due to all the gubmint intrusion .Last 2 week paycheck was light about $140.00 due to new fiscal cliff deal..but wait..I thought under $250K we would not be affected ? That plus all the other hidden taxes and fees we are paying. BUT we can't take away Obamaphones or stop gov't assistance to Illegal (oops..Undocumented) aliens..or grants to teach African Men how to properly wash after sex, cowboy poetry museums, etc. all in the name of Economic Stimulus. Obama is nothing more than Hugo Chavez with a better marketing team.

As usual you're just making stuff up. Dems in congress voted against the resolution to go to war by a combined 147 to 111. Repubs voted for it by 263-7. But here you are saying liberals were almost entirely for the war. If Dems had been in charge, there would have been no war and you would have gotten what you wanted. You are clueless.

Was very easy to vote against it when it was so overwhelmingly going to pass. Look to the big time Dems in the Senate that supported it to get a better clue of how the vote would have gone with a Dem House majority. Would have been a national issue.
