Ummm the Vikings were 31st in passing this year. Did you watch them at all? AP faced stacked boxes all season. Ponder was TERRIBLE in the passing game. Nobody said Tebow would make the Vikings offense deadly, but there is NO reason to believe he would be worse than Ponder. With the duel running threat, there is a reason to believe the offense would open up more so than this season.

Did you read any of my posts or even the one you quoted? I am a Viking fan, watched every game and thought we had a better chance winning last night with Webb than ponder. I also said in the post you responded to that I would prefer Tebow to Ponder. And i was actually responding to someone that said with Tebow the Vikings would be deadly. Your post is about as wrong as I was about Webb last night.

You tried to make a point that MN needs someone who is a threat to pass the ball "so that Adrian Peterson does not have to face stacked boxes." Gatorfansrule noted your error because Denver ran effectively w/o much of a passing threat. You responded with "They might have been 1st in rushing but they were also 31st in passing." Minnesota was also 31st in passing and AP obviously did not suffer against stacked boxes this year. IOW - your point is completely invalid.

My point was about improving the offense and why I don't think Tebow makes a significant improvement and i stand by that. With Tebow the offense would not be significantly better. I dont tthink it would be any worse just no improvement. On the other hand if you have a competent passer to open the field and threaten the defense you should have better passing statistics and at the very least some easier runs.

As for Webb he is a ridiculous athlete and has won games in the past. Ponder played awful at Lambeau earlier in the year so there was no reason to be confident with him this week. But Webb on zero notice for the packers just maybe they could catch them off guard and make something happen. If you only saw him last night you wouldn't understand how fans have wanted to see him play more for years. I guess that is over now.

I had heard some chatter that Ponder might get benched this season (before his play improved around week 14). I think we know now why he wasn't.
