Anyone really want to jeopardize getting will Grier? Woulard is a great QB but can he play another position, but he would be a great get!

People are claiming athleticism isn't everything with the JD/JB situation, and now you want another athletic QB that just became a QB?? Seeing with the Gators QB development over the last 5 years in our systems, I would hate to see your reactions when he doesn't pan out over the next few years, especially after the YouTube gator stomp of a Gator jersey after he didn't get an offer from our coaching staff following a camp. Fickle all around IMO

Just from the highlights, Woulard plays QB very well. He scans the field and finds receivers. Look at the tape and you will see that on a couple of occasions he is pressured, he scrambles and keeps his eyes downfield and finds a receiver for a completion. I hope JD continues to grow and becomes a star, but do far he has struggled.

Anything can happen. Nobody expected Rex to get the job over Brock Berlin.

With Brissett transferring and Murphy likely to follow, replacing a true JR and RS JR QB in 2013 with two true FR is fine for roster management.
This effort could also mean that Skyler may not be developing as well as hoped and they want more competition for the #2 spot. Jax St also showed how REAL it can be when your running QB (who has awful pocket awareness) goes down. I am sure they were pretty scared about the options if Brissett went down.

He's 6'3. Maybe he can play WR.

Or maybe he turns out to be a great QB and if JD does not improve the JD can be moved to TE.

I think that's all that's going on here, plus he brings a distinctly different skill set and some versatility. Haven't seen any published 40 times, but he looks fast and has a very nice frame. At least two sites list him as 6'4". Him coming on strong his senior year says a lot about a kid who has only played the position for two years.
Wish Murphy would stay. We could use him at WR.

Coaches at Elite 11 know what they are doing. I like Woulard. What UF needs is a good QB coach. Maybe with Hamdan gone and Phillips here, Pease can focus on O.C. and QB more.

Based on our bowl performance we could use a quarterback who's smart but not terribly athletic.

What bothers me is Driskel is athletic, but we failed to use that in the two games we lost. Should staff have had blind trust in our OL those games?

The one time we ran a play where Driskel ran against UGA, he gained a good amount of yardage

Offhand I'd say blind trust is the only sort of trust the OL warranted.

Why can't our equally beefy and talented OL guys learn to block like Nicky's crew ?
What really gives ?

This is a rather hilarious thread.
It never hurts to have "spare" QBs, I mean, look at Tyler Murphy (why hasn't that guy been used more???????).

We might have actually broken through there finally, mostly with the OL transfers. We're adding three big, experienced OL to the roster for spring practice. Garcia, Moore and Brown should be immediate upgrades from Nixon and Wilson. Last year's haul was small, but Humphries and Dunker could both be future stars. Chaz Green is coming along nicely. We just need to keep the same OL coach for two or more years in a row. I think OL will be a strength next year.

If he comes and does not play QB, he may be able to replace Trey Burton in the offense.
