IMHO we are by far the biggest surprise (and disappointment to SEC fans) of the "bowl season." The idea that an SEC team ranked 3rd in the nation, a team that came within a fumble of very possibly playing in the NC game, would get blown out (and yes, it was a blowout despite the final misleading score) by an unranked Big East team was almost beyond my comprehension.
Law I'd actually be interested in why you thought lsu would lose to Clemson. Clemson had proved nothing all year except that they could score on lesser opponents. What's your take?

We're overreacting to our loss and the talent gap between our team and Louisville. That Cardinal team is going to be very good next year, and they will get their props next year because of what they showed in the bowl game. It's a case of them maturing and healing during the month break while Florida coasted.

Also, as SEC partisans, we were overreacting to the conference record this bowl season. This year is about average during our run of dominance. Check out this link:

All is well. And if Jeff Driskel matures as we all expect, and Muschamp is comfortable giving Brent Pease freer reign -- as we all hope, I suspect -- next year will be our championship year. Personally, I'm hoping for a Florida vs. A&M conference championship game next year. That game might set television viewing records for the SEC Championship game.
