Another irony: Obama got barely more than 30% of all eligible voters.

So I guess all of the illegal votes in Cali were counted at least once.

It's been said that corruption - in general - has a tendency to rule.

And the republicans lost the House by a million and a half votes but still has more seats due to gerrymandering.

Hard to beat someone who promises free chit and no pain except for the "rich" who need to pay their "fair share". We missed out on someone who would have straightened out part of the mess.

Last time I checked, the winners won, the losers lost and those who didn't vote will be ruled by the same people who got elected just like those who voted.
If you think you won something inside your own mind, so what, it isn't like it changed the outcome.

I don't understand this thread. The election is long gone. Even if mitt was elected do you honestly think it would make any positive difference to us? They only represent who pays their bills to get re-elected...not us ham and eggers.

47%, huh; I'd say he did a pretty outstanding job, considering the Americans he truly represents only amount to 2% of the population.
I had no idea there were so many millionaires on GatorCountry.
And middle-class folks still think a wealthy guy who apparently didn't even really want the job was going to fix something for the general population?

This is as strong an argument for not voting as any I've heard.

We should want our elected officials to not want the job. Ever year of George Washington?

To you Dream, anything is a reason not to vote. Still hasn't changed the outcome and if you look, there were a few that lost by a very small margin and could have used a few more.
That's ok, as long as you have other's to blame for your lot in life, somehow it makes it better.
Yet, you still have the same leaders if you had voted, only you didn't get the pleasure of voting for or against those you blame.

In a way, I'm just going where you lead me. You seem to be saying that, whether I vote or not, I'm still going to be ruled by the same slimy politicians and their slimy special interest groups and the slimy voters who empower them.
So, why endorse the slimy mess ? At very least, I can stand askance from these people and declare, "I'm not like you."

So voters are slimy and you are prince charming because you have no civic pride. Yet you hang on a politics board and think your words replace actions. They don't.
Yep, not like me.
Give yourself another pat on the back, its all you do.

Yes, I've already explained, at some length, why I believe voting is a slimy act. Also, think of how much evil has been perpetrated under the rubric 'civic duty.' I know Hitler and Stalin were big on it. Think about it: the very term sounds Orwellian and sort of Reich-ish.
