I was told the Jelanie is more than likely going. I wouldn't blame him for doing it, but I wouldn't mind seeing him rock the O & B again for one more year.

The real question is:
Which Gator team will show up next year, the one that played against LSU, FSU and South Carolina, or the one that showed up against Georgia, Missouri and Louisville?
The defense, special teams and turnovers pretty much carried this year's team, but there are some major losses on both defense and offense (e.g. Floyd & Bostic, Gillislee & Reed), and, if the offense remains as unimaginative as it has been most of the past three years, next year could well be another 8-4 or perhaps 9-3 season.
Predictions and prognostications are all a lot of fun, but every season and every game is an unknown until it goes in the books.
I mean, who would have predicted the LSU game, the USC game, the Georgia game, the Missouri game, the FSU game, or the Louisville game before they were played?

If we do beat LSU with our talent for next year then I think that TAMU will be against Florida for the SECCG in 2013.

I think I got indirectly shot down back in September for stating something similar before Manzimania took over.
There is no reason A&M couldn't win a National Championship very soon - having a Heisman winner at QB as a freshman has to be one heckuva recruiting pull. Manziel is electric too - the stakes are pretty high in College Station all of a sudden. I'm kinda glad they're not on our schedule next year...

I was hoping to play aTm just so the Gators could be that annoying team that keeps beating them, sort of what Mississippi teams do to Florida on occasion.

Glad Arkansas went with Bielema instead of rolling the dice with Malzahn have a feeling he and long with Sumlin are going to be the Spurrier's of the next generation in the SEC- dynamic minds who push the conference away from the boring offense we play now.

You guys are building up Manziel too much. He loses a lot of talent around him

Better add Skyler Mornhinweg to the QB depth chart he'll probably be one play away if Jeff goes down. I do imagine that Trey Burton will see a lot of action handing the ball off or running the Wildcat if Jeff is hurt as well.

We're building up a freshman Hesiman winner who just dominated like he did in a BCS bowl?
He may be losing players around him but he's been sensational. No reason to think he won't be a threat next year. Remember, he will develop too.

Is Tyler Murphy still on the team? I thought he did well in the spring game. I might be mistaken.

Plus, Gator fans are convinced Mettenberger is a bum.

Condensed: defense will likely not be as good but still borderline elite, offense should be better, we'll have to replace arguably the best kicker in the history of the program, and the schedule doesn't get any easier.
I'll still be surprised with any worse than 10-2.

Kid is a stud and I wish he was a Gator, just saying he had a very good supporting cast that will be disappearing. I have seen many freshman sensations have sophomore slumps. This stuff happens.

Appreciate the effort but.....I think its too early to come out with this. Brissett just announced his transfer today and we may sign up to 30 new players so the roster is undergoing a major overhaul. Given that, its tough to say who will start at a variety of positions. For example:
QB: Driskel will start. Who is the backup?
RB: Will Matt Jones win the job or one of the incoming Freshmen?
OL Harrison, Halapio, Green and 6th man Koehne return. Who wins the 2 open jobs between DJ Humphries, Garcia, Moore and Brown (ie 3 new veteran players)...or will Dunker or Thurman or Jordan or Silberman surprise and win one of those jobs?....or supplant one of the 3 returning starters?
TE: Reed is gone. Who wins the job now? Thompson for his blocking? Taylor for his receiving? Or does Westbrook or Burton surprise and win the job?
WR: Hammond is gone. Several guys started in the other spot. Does DeBose get his head straight? Dunbar? or do Pittman or Andrades surprise and take the job? One of the 5 (or will it be 6 or 7?) incoming Freshmen?
and that's just the Offense.

This needs an update now. With Jelani gone, that other OLB spot will be up for grabs. Meanwhile, Demarcus Robinson will have a good chance of beating out Debose for the second WR spot.

Kyle Koehne and Ian Silberman also provide some depth to the O-line, with Koehne at tackle and center, and Silberman at guard. Jeremy Brown gives us another corner. Jacob Guy is there at quarter too.
Halapio will be next year's Nixon, and it's hard to feel confident with Harrison; but the rest of the line looks quite good.

I can think of a few gator teams that had big expectations due to returning skill position playersthat disappointed due to the loss of the big uglies, starting with the super sophs of the john Reaves era. Think the Aggies will go the same route. Its LSU/bama until some team proves otherwise.
