LSU losing A LOT of underclassmen to draft....
LSU will have to a lot of new playmakers next year...so far, their safety Reid, CB Simon, punter Wing, RB Ware, DL Mingo, and LB Minter are declaring early...most people think DL Montgomery will also bolt early....that is 7 starters right there...not even counting guys who are graduating...so just in case you guys think we have bad luck with Elam, Floyd, and Reed leaving, LSU is hurtin more than us....

I don't think those 3 losses for us are really that much of a deal. Of course we would love to have those 3, but we should be able to replace those players with good recruiting and player development.

My first reaction was "good" since they are on the schedule. Then I realized I'd rather see them win the west than bama and their loss is bamas gain.

^ Agreed for the most part...out of the 3 that have left (so far), I am only concerned about replacing Elam...he was such a leader and a great open field tackler...he was our secondary rock for 3 years...we lose both starting safeties..Evans was not great but he was underappreciated IMO...that will be our biggest question mark on D next year...Reed I think can be replaced with either Kent Taylor or more productivity from the WRs...
Floyd might hurt in terms of losing his talent but we are loaded at DL...

And I'm sure LSU will still be good...their best RB is that freshman Hill...Mettenberger should be back...WRs Beckham and Landry are back as well....I think they lose a couple of OL though...

This was pretty much a given. If Murray leaves our hardest games are Miami and USC

LSU played more freshman than anyone in the SEC this year. They recruit just as well as anyone, year in and year out. They'll likely be a 1 to 3 loss team, as usual.

LSU will lose a lot but look at their recruiting class, they are re-loading on defense. They have 6-7 DLs & 4 DBs coming in and no team gets more freshmen ready to play and contribute early than LSU. The offense is bringing back plenty of talent so expect LSU to be as competitive as ever.

As long as they beat Georgia, I'm glad they're contracting in experience.

He was suspended for the bowl game for violation of team rules, which makes me wonder if he (or some of the others) would be eligible next year.

LSU seems almost immune to the ravages of early NFL defection by its underclassmen. Why? Because the state of Louisiana, which LSU has completely locked down, produces linemen like Hershey produces chocolate bars. Haven't you guys ever noticed the way LSU always has solid offensive and defensive lines, even after years with down-rated recruiting classes?
The lowly two-star linemen they recruit end up as competent SEC starters.
The middling three-star guys end up as All-SEC selections.
The desirable four-star guys end up as high NFL draft picks.
And the elite five-star guys end up as football-field versions of Al-Qaeda terrorists.
It's sort of unfair, really. But I guess it's kind of similar to the way Florida produces skill position players. The difference is, we have to recruit against two other legitimate football programs, they don't.
LSU will be fine.

I don't think its Bama we are playing for the SECCG. TAMU plays Bama at home and I think they will be the gumps. TAMU also will beat LSU so it will be TAMU and Florida for the SECCG.

Hopefully losing Floyd and gaining RoPo is a wash. Elam is the big loss IMHO.
A&M has served notice to anyone paying attention that there's a new sheriff in the SEC.

LSU DEs Barkevious Mingo and Sam Montgomery and DT Bennie Logan will all declare for the NFL draft together according to sources.
