Kudos to this young man. Wonderfully classy move.
Its a shame the rest of the team and the coaching staff didn't take as much pride in their performance as he did, and apparently he didn't even play.
Every one of them should be ashamed of themselves.

It would be a travesty, it would be ridiculous to all of a sudden come back and get the feeling back, get the health back, feel good again and then all of a sudden go throw some other colors on my shirt and go coach. I don't want to do that. I have too much love for this University and these players and for what we've built." - Urban Liar

True. I'm a Kitchens fan, not for stuff like this, but b/c of his playmaking, and actually got into an exchange with another poster earlier this year on how I thought he and Taylor and Morrison are as good as Jelani.
A player only shows up in the box score if he makes a tackle or something, you can play on defense, on the Oline, and on special teams and never get a mention in a box score.

Simply classtastic move. If you only do it when you win, it's MEANINGLESS.
You do it every time bec it's the right thing to do.

If you are on Twitter, show your support by following him @DK_theTruth
These players are very much into how many followers they have, so I think
this will help show we appreciate his classy act. You can also tweet
your support.

One of the things that this pictures says to me is there is a big difference between a football player who plays for a team and a football player who plays for a school. Love this guy and wish uf had more like him. Hopefully this begins a new tradition...

I would LOVE to buy a jersey with his number and name on it. I've been checking online and can't seem to find any site that would make a custom one.

You won't find that either. Nike owns the rights to Florida jersey numbers, with the only exceptions being #1 or #96.

Let me rephrase for you...they can't "legally" make a jersey with a number besides #1 or #96. ONLY Nike has the rights to do that. I'm in the business as a rep and sell jerseys throughout the southeast, and one of the companies I rep makes jerseys for kids--and we are strapped especially with UF when it comes to numbers. For adults, it is the same restrictions--ONLY Nike can make jerseys with a player's number on it....and they have done so over the years, but very limited as to how many and which numbers they do. Tebow obviously opened the door for them when UAA saw just how much money they were leaving on the table by not having players numbers. Nike has also done the retro numbers....Emmitt, Danny, SOS, etc....but year in and year out, the numbers you find 'legally' on a jersey will be 1 or 96 if it isn't Nike.
Now granted, there are folks out there who get their hands on a blank jersey....jersey with the stripes, color scheme, Head logo, etc--but blank as far as numbers go. That is when they will print/heat a number on which I suppose you can pick and choose. IF they get caught by CLC and UF---we are talking fairly big fines. And typically they don't use Nike jerseys when they make those knock-offs. One listing on E-Bay right now is a Russell jersey which UF hasn't worn since early 90's--doesn't really look like the real deal that much anyway.
Either way, if you can find someone to make a jersey with any number on it--have at it and enjoy. Just don't be surprised if the business making it gets shut down eventually. Nike...and UAA....doesn't play around with that kind of stuff very well. They mean business when they clamp down on violations and I have seen it happen numerous times over the years.
