After Sugar and you're doubting your Gators
The performance at the Sugar was certainly an all-time low but I could care less and think NO GATOR fan should be down on CWM and the season we just had. Tell me this how many teams would you trade seasons with bowl performance and all? For me there's 2 (the ones playing for it all) and maybe a 3rd (UGA) I would trade their season for ours and NOT one other team out there. Considering what expectations were before September that's a damn great year to have had even with what happened Wednesday night.

I am kind of surprised at the perspective on here. It seems like the consensus is if you're not playing for a national championship you guys really don't care about the outcome of the bowl game anymore. Will this be true in years you don't make the playoff? That's a spoiled outlook isn't it?

Of course you want to win as opposed to losing, but really what's the difference? Either way it's the last game of the year with no title of any sort on the line. Winning the sec is important. Winning the mnc is important. Getting to a good bowl is important, but winning it versus losing doesn't matter much in the long run.

Maybe. But i`ve been taught to finish hard and finish what you started. We didnt. I know its difficult to get up for a game against the likes of Louisville, but you never know if you will ever play in a bowl game again. It was a disappointing loss no matter how you spin it.

Especially when the players and coaches worked so hard to obtain a #3 ranking with the distinct possibility of a #2 ranking when all is said and done. Then they go out and just pi** away all that hard work. That my friends is a complete lack of pride.

Why's a guy who's team was 1-7 in the SEC telling UF fans how we should feel? We had a great season, capped off by a bad performance in a meaningless bowl game. This team outpaced everyone's expectations, and was deflated after ending up #3 in the BCS ...

I've never seen anything like it in my roughly fifteen years on the site. It's embarrassing, frankly.

Would beating Louisville have been more or less meaningful than our 1998 BCS bowl win over Syracuse, or our 2001 BSC bowl win over Maryland? Just give some perspective on how big of win for this program Louisville would have been, so I can react with just enough deference to make the fainting goats happy.

As Parcells said, you're only as good as your last game. That being said I can accept losing a well played game. THAT debacle was not a well played game.

I would say more. After two bad seasons a Sugar Bowl win would have been a great accomplishment and momentum going into next season in which we could have a contending team.
Just as a side note, I was at that Orange Bowl against Syracuse. What a freakin dump that stadium was.

Texas A&M may be another....great first year in the SEC, heisman QB returning and a very easy schedule by SEC standards next year (as far as Eastern opponents go).

If we had shown some life and lost people would feel better, instead we got a coaching staff and team that didn't seem to care, this isn't the NFL, every game counts.

Losing sucks, doesn't matter when or where. But yeah, it was a meaningless game that has no bearing on any future event. I'm over it. Boo Hooing on the internet isn't going to change anything.

You can say we lost this came because of poor coaching.. Then you could also say we won many games this year because of very good coaching. Our team, IMO, had many glaring holes in our roster. This game confirmed to me that we needed very, very good coaching in order to be successful. Our's was not a team you could put on auto-pilot and expect us to roll our opponent.

Exactly...and more importantly:
1) Once again, the Gators lose a game to a much-lower ranked team...on national TV.
2) It takes the luster off the entire 2012 season and totally sours the off-season.
3) Our Sugar Bowl legacy is an ugly 3-6 for a game that representing the SEC winner.
4) Our overall bowl series record is a mere .500 (mediocre)...truly uninspiring.
5) Recruits and fans question the coaching leadership and direction of the program.

Once again how is that hard to do? I don't get that at all. It is a BCS bowl game. We played in the darn Outback and Gator Bowl the past 2 season with mediocre records. How could you not be hype to play in this game?
