Florida won 11 games this season think about that. I am not a big Jeff D fan but I do understand that others around him need to get better as well. The OL and the WR are two other positions to highlight.

Gilly got nine carries on a team built to wear a team down with ball control and running the ball.
Even an 8 man line can wear down when you have more debt. Letting Strong dictate our O, was why our staff got beat.

Truthfully, the qb is imo the most important position in football. A quality qb can make a world of difference for the entire team. Look at Tebow and then look at Brantley but more examples could be made. Quality qb helps the D as well. I like JD but yes the jury is still out if he can be what we hope.
The thing is, we are very deficient in OL blocking and our wr's that that can make most qbs look average. JD still, needs to improve and I hope he does. I am also wondering why is it a team like UL can have wrs running free and we can't. Do they really have the superior of wrs or are we not good at devising pass plays?

I understand Dream, but if someone off the street played Lebron James 100 times, eventually off of law of averages they would win one. I don't think most Gator fans believe UL is more talented than us, at least not on the defensive side of the ball.

I don't get to go to the games to see for myself, so I can't express an opinion. But what I read on this forum has me totally confused. Every time a poster says that our WRs can't get open, another poster says they've been running wide open all over the field.
Which is it?

The latter, any poster blaming this on receivers has been to 0 and I mean 0 games all season. Our receivers just don't get big time separation like a Harvin or a AJ Green so posters point to that and to some degree they are right we don't have a true legitimate take the top off the defense receiver; but you bet your bottom dollar they are open all over the place.

on some plays in the lville game, receivers were open, but not wide open enough for driskel to get them the ball--on some plays, a receiver was very open but driskel was getting quick pressure and didn't have a chance to get the ball away. he usually locks on a receiver early and doesn't see a secondary receiver who may be open.

I've been playing and watching football longer than most people here have been alive. I'm not sure where this notion of winning and losing as a team comes from. Sure there's a team on the field but individual coaches and players win and lose games. You don't think one player or coach makes a difference on a football team? Then you don't know the game.
I watched Andrew Luck play in HS here in Houston and help a team that shouldn't win a game win. I saw Vince Young a few years earlier do the same thing. I then saw Vince carry a Texas team to a national title that no one else could have done in spite of his coach. I saw Clowney make a hit that turned the momentum of a game last week. I can give you countless examples of individual players rising up to make a play that led the team to victory.
The QB position is the most important position in football. Show me a good one and I'll show you one that makes everyone around him play better. An average Oline or average receivers hasn't hurt Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Aaron Rogers, Ben Rothlisberger, Drew Bree's, etc...

I wouldn't argue with any of that but you still cant win football games without other players. I do think one player can make a significant difference. But the other 21 also have to be there.

Are you serious? I've heard a few people say this in this forum and you all must be children???? Do you even know the history of the Sugar Bowl? Do you even know what the bowl system is about and how it is a privilege to play in a BCS bowl? You're comparing the FSU game to the Sugar bowl??? I want to beat them every year like everyone else but to say any game let alone the Sugar bowl is meaningless is moronic.

yea, whatever. keep humpin that chicken. any gator fan that says they felt the same emotion going into this game than any other game this season including the scrubs is lying.
im as diehard as most fans and i simply barely gave a crap. gimmeee the D2 teams in a game that counts over a crappy bowl game that the players couldnt even get up for.

Well certainly Louisville would have been ACC champs this year.

And this is the attitude that contributed to the attendance numbers at the game. The Sugar Bowl is a great bowl game. And I certainly was excited about this game just like the others, because I wanted to see our team finish strong and show some improvement on offense that could give us momentum into next season. Finishing 12-1 and No.2 knowing that our only loss was because of a 6 turnover game to another Top 5 team would have been great. Something is wrong if our players can't get up for a BCS bowl game after 2 horrible seasons, but under another coach they were up for every bowl game BCS or non-BCS.

I say... this is worst.
Nebraska was ranked Number One...
Florida was ranked Number two...
Sure, we got embarassed by the Cornhuskers...
But last night... we got embarassed by Louisville.
Louisville...
A basketball school.
Our team can move on if they want...
But I say that the score of this game should be put up in bronze inside the Gator's dressing room so that every damn day... they have to look at it.
This should never happen again...
Never.

when they don't show up, fla didn't have enough talent to beat a team like lville with a very good QB and good WRs.
