I thought Louisville had twice as many fans as we did. I was in Section 139, and from my view, Louisville had a lot more fans. I know they sold out of their allotment of tickets
(17500) while we only sold 7000 of ours. Of course, most get their tickets elsewhere, but you get my point.

I didn't go, but if I had I wouldn't have bought tickets from UF. Know plenty of folks who went and got tix elsewhere.
For what it's worth, I was there with 3 others. The Dome was about 2 to 1 Louisville fans....and when you were out and about pre-game, the Louisville fans seemed genuinely excited about the game...and for the most part, Gator fans were pretty relaxed and just enjoying New Orleans.

Our fan base has gotten way too complacent. In 1991, I remeber having to CAMP OUT in the stadium to get Sugar Bowl student tickets for the game against Notre Dame. That crowd was more than 60,000 Gators!

Of course, we did not get tix thru UAA...but found some on EBAY for about $100 off face value per-ticket.

The system sucks...but Gator Nation has got to represent better.

So not going is equal to not caring? So only 90,000 fans care every week then ...right?

Cmon. The truth is we don't care about Louisville. It costs a lot of money to fly...stay...and eat in Nawlins...plus tix.

Not caring? Hardly. I am still grumpy...

I was disappointed. The one shot shown on TV looked like the OSU NC game. 2/3 red...1/3 blue.

But as stated before...I can't preach...and I did care.

I guess I come from a different generation, but the way I see it, I only get to see 13 Gator games each year, and I'm excited to watch every single one, and I would attend every single one if I could.

Louisville fan base @ the game were pumped up and rowdy. Florida fans not so much.
Louisville fans looked to be student age to alumni/older fans. Florida fans were mostly older alums and acted more like spectators, so a good portion of those that were there were not loud cheerers.

Despite the weather (cold with some windy rain) and the lousy performance
it was a fun time. New Orleans is a great city to see a football game with so
much to see/eat/drink. And if you avoid Bourbon Street is can be pretty family
friendly also. Not sure why more fans wouldn't want to travel here and support our
team and the city of New Orleans than go to some crappy bowl game in Orlando.

Plus our team did really well this year!

main reason for bad attendance--midweek game--very difficult to take 2-3 days off work after the holidays and attend a game in new orleans. The ncaa selected these dates for tv money, not for fans.
