Football is a team game. No one person wins a game for the team. What I do know is this team lost one SEC game this year. People on this board love players like Tebow and Johnny football but they did not win games by themselves either.

And this is again where you show your ignorance, both of those players single handily took over games and made plays that no one on the field could make. In short, without them, their respective teams don't win the game.

If you swapped TB and JD we probably win the game by 35 points... They'd probably get 75 yards of offense on our D

Nope but they led and made plays and to win the game in clutch moments, so in short they were the catalyst to the win; which without there would be no win period.

my favorite things from new orleans:

1. 3 for 1 beers at most of the places on bourbon st.
2. johnny's po' boys
3. crawfish etoufee at acme oyster house
4. beignets at cafe du mond
5. very inexpensive tickets (on game day, tickets were everywhere) -- $5-$15 for uppers, $20-$50 for lowers

I think both are clutch players at the college level but again it is a team game. You also need players around you to help win games. Its a lot easier to win football games when you have Percy on your team than Frankie Hammons. Jeff came up pretty big against Vandy.

I'm tired of hearing Jeff doesn't have players around him, no offense but that's a load of horse dung, UL had no where near the level of talent on the either side of the ball as the Gators. Truth is, Jeff can't read defenses, had wide open players all night long, worse yet he has not yet become a leader, partly because of his play on the field. That hurts team chemistry and as I said in a previous post, has had a negative affect on the entire team. He needs to grow up, and Pease and him need to get on the same page, otherwise, next season will be like watching the Titanic, ala Muschamp era.

What concerns me is this O has had a full year learning Pease's O. Again and again teams have placed 8 in a box and for the most part we couldn't handle it. We were led to believe via newspapers that JD was really getting the O was more comfortable with it and all and then the Sugar Bowl happened and we looked pathetic. I told my wife, what have we been practicing? We failed at blocking, running, throwing, receiving. And that's just the offense. Every pass play for the most part when the game was on the line, a defender was right there with our receiver. Not so when we were on D, their wrs ran free.

WM has lots of work to do.
1. The team remains immature and weak mentally when it phones games in vs weaker teams. That's poor coaching.
2. He has got to instill greater discipline on the team, no more thugery, no more show boating, reduce the stupid penalties.
3. Pease gets one more year to make the offense click, by that we need to show remarkable improvement. If we don't have an answer for 8 in a box then he needs to find another gig imo.
4. JD needs to earn his starting position. He needs to know if he can't improve reading a d, and hitting receivers his job isn't secure.
5. The OL coach needs to know that for the most part the OL underachieved. He has got to get better results.
6. WR coach Joker will be a big help for wrs.

Quinn, was plain and simple outcoached. The D had a good year and i wonder if he rested a bit on his laurels. Why you waited til the second half to blitz TB is a mystery. We should have had press coverage and 8 in a box. TB was picking us apart and you still didn't change much and even then in the second half very little press coverage or consistent blitzing. Quinn you had playmakers, you just chose a less aggressive approach and the d was burned. You need to know improvement is expected on your part too.

Like this rant will do any good but makes me feel better so self therapy

Criticisms of Driskel are taken, but I somehow doubt that we more talented than UL. I think their relatively easy win over us might be attributed to their surprising level of talent. Recall that 34 players on its roster are from Florida.

Possibly. Or one could say they are the leftovers not taken by UF, UM, FSU, or even USF....

Being from Florida is a common element of rosters all over the Big East and ACC.

Well why are you tired of hearing the truth? We need to get better players around Jeff and he also needs to get better but it is a process. It was his first season starting and his first season learning a new system. Not only his first season but the rest of the players as well

Phenom you love you some Tebow as do I but what was Tim's record as a stater his Heisman year which was his 2nd season in the system?

It was also Johnny Football's first season, AJ Mccarron won a National title in his first year starting with a statically worse defense than ours this year. Your points are all moot because they are excuses. Jeff has regressed and I pray and hope that he is given the reigns next season, because we cannot win without him. He has got to learn how to go through his progressions and look off the safety's, especially in basic Cover 2 and 3 packages.

Tebow with this defense would have won a National Championship. Go and check the stats, that offense was one of the best in UF history in 07 despite the loss to Michigan in the bowl game, Tim was light years ahead of Jeff at this point when it comes to reading defenses and making the correct check down throws. Still it is unfair to compare anyone to Tebow and I don't like doing it.

Tebow didn't lose any of those games that 2nd season. The horrible defense lost those games. Tebow gave his all in those games but came up short.

I can point to several games this year that Driskel SHOULD have lost for us with his poor play. I can think of only 2 that he won. The first play of the game is an easy throw for a HS QB. Driskel somehow found a way to put us in an early hole by taking too long to throw it, then he threw it inaccurate. Then the next series he misses an open receiver by throwing a 100 mile fastball? Game over.

The QB position is the most important. Games are won and loss by the QB. I put this loss on coaching and Driskel by far.

Phenom you love you some Tebow as do I but what was Tim's record as a stater his Heisman year which was his 2nd season in the system?

He has got to learn how to go through his progressions and look off the safety's, especially in basic Cover 2 and 3 packages.

Tebow with this defense would have won a National Championship. Go and check the stats, that offense was one of the best in UF history in 07 despite the loss to Michigan in the bowl game, Tim was light years ahead of Jeff at this point when it comes to reading defenses and making the correct check down throws. Still it is unfair to compare anyone to Tebow and I don't like doing it.
So he needed other people to win game?
Tim has half field reads.

Do you think we beat Georgia if Jeff has a guy like Percy on the field that might change the game plan so we don't have 6 turnovers?

Johnny football had two first round tackles. Give us those two and we probably dont lose a game this year.

Jeff needs to get better and I expect him to but the people around him also need to get better I dont know how you could deny that.

Talking with you is pointless, as soon as someone debunks your theories, you just bring up another new irrelevant topic as if your previous post never existed. Peace out, I'm going to enjoy the rest of my day.

Here we go with the Tebow gave his all so did Jeff. You win as a team you lose as a team.

The QB position is important but so are the other 21. We lost 1 game during the regular season.

Jeff's "ALL" isn't good enough right now. His play was poor for most of the season. He showed no progress from the first game to the last. We won several games in spite of him. I love the kid and I'm glad he's a Gator but his QB play is not good enough to win a championship. Blame the other 21 guys all you want. The QB position is weakness on this team.

So much the worse for the judgement of 'every NFL scout and recruiting analyst of the last 5 years.' UL ran through us, over us and around us. They took what they wanted, when it mattered, and putzed around and played with us when it didn't.
