Maybe.
The game was what it was.
TO say if it had meaning then we would win takes credit away from the winner and diminishes the losers loss.
I know Spurrier was not great sometimes when the bowl didn't count. He would say things like the "bowl game is a reward for the season"
But when he wanted it he was hard to beat.
But i doubt he would have lost like we lost the other night.

You think FSU says the same thing about the game in November? That was an even closer game, you think they all convince themselves that if they played us again they'd play to their strengths and whoop us?

absolutely that is what the loser often does.
If the better team always won sports would be boring.
Not saying we are better but on paper you would think we were.

Or if he did, it would stick in his craw forever.

Sometimes a losing fan can also be very realistic like saying this year we would beat Louisville and Georgia in a rematch and last year there was no way we would have beaten LSU or Alabama in 100 rematches.

If we know what we know now...I'll take us. If we don't...I take UL.
In other words...We have to believe they can beat us in order to beat them.

Yeah and it Texas A&M played us the other night i beleive they would have beat us as well.
Also Maybe LSU wins in a rematch.
ANd some of those no name teams we played close this year we lose as well.
It would be great though if we could only replay the games we lost.

If we went back to the ground and pound, we'd win like we did all year long.

This thread only proves how much of a homer most of us are. If you really honestly would put $1,000 on UF -14 points then you're a homer or just blind. We could barely put up 14 points on our own let alone beat a quality QB like TB.
UL was the better team by far. They also had the better QB where it counts most and they had the better coaches and were better disciplined. Play this game 10 times and they should win 8 or 9. Keep believing we didn't want it, we didn't care, yada, yada if it makes you feel better but we are who we are. A very offensively challenged team that makes you vulnerable to anyone.

So you really think that team is that much more talented that ours? Are you kidding me?

Everything we did wrong was fixable and coaching error.

I never said they were more talented. I said they were more disciplined and had the better coaches. I also said they had the better QB which in this day is the most important thing in the game of football.
Bridgewater vs Driskel... I'll take TB 10 times out of 10.

That's okay... most rational people would take him, but we're not a one-man team. If we stop Teddy we stop them, yet the coaches evidently forgot that in their game planning.

I never bet, and I also never pick against the Gators.
Charlie had his team ready and had a great game plan. Louisville made the plays when they needed them and we did not. They were the better team that night.
Having said that, I still think we could have won but a lot of bad stuff happened too early to overcome.

The parallels are similar. Louisville came out of the locker room on fire for much the same reason we did in 2006. They were tired of being told they didn't deserve to be on the same field as Florida. Extremely high motivation coupled with a tremendous gameplan produced a solid win for Louisville.

Hold on, Mac. The OP said no spread. No way am I giving Lou 14 points if the game was replayed. If teh game was replayed UF would be royally pissed and Lou would be fat and happy giving UF the intangible and pyshcological advantage which is huge in football.
So, even if I had to lay 14 I might but without a spread it is a no brainer. UF would kill Lou in the rematch.
But, there won't be a rematch, this win will help Lou in the preseason polls and could easily get them in the Top 10. It could also help TB get some Heisman votes which he flat out deserves. He was freaking money.

Oh, okay, I just reread the OP. I still would have a hard time with our offensive woes. UL was a better passing and running team from what I saw. I can't gauge motivation on a football team so can't really use it. I wasn't really confident in any game this season because our offense is such a crapshoot. We had a very small margin for error to win games.

Let's play a different game. 5 games vs. Louisville at their place, 5 games at the Swamp. What's UF's record in those ten games?
I say UF wins twice in Lousville, and all 5 times in the Swamp.
