Look at it this way, if the winner last night would have moved on to play the winner of ND/Bama the place would have been packed with Gators- the current system blows

Do we deserve some of the blame? No. Shame? Absolutely. It's pretty sad when you get out-attended by Louisville.

Louisville fans. To put things in perspective; it's like we got a trip to play ND for the NC. Biggest bowl berth for them like since football was created. Hard to get up for a lose-lose game.

Hate to disagree with some of you but we looked around several times during the game and the lower section was about even between red and orange and blue. But the upper seats were more orange and blue.

any more non relavent excuses you would like to throw in there?
If it were Oklahoma it would of been packed. It was the damn sugar bowl, the bowl the sec champ goes to and we failed to show up.
our fanbase sounds like FSU a few seasons ago with stupid excuses why not to go.

The Superdome could've filled every seat with a UF fan and I don't think it would change the outcome of the game. What the fans are guilty of, however, is turning their nose up at the match-up and acting as though the audacity of being picked to play UL was reason enough for not making the trip, particularly after struggling in many of the season's cupcake games and having a UGA team with a good argument for playing in the Sugar to begin with. 2 days ago, half this board was still feeling "disrespected" about not going to Miami....lol.

They've been doing that all year and the last two
Excuses are:
1. Too hot
2. too hot
3. night game I hate night games I wont get to bed before 9
4. Noon game, I wont get my nap in
5. team sucks
6. offense sucks
7. muschamp is an embarrasment
8. Booster fees
9. crappy team they play
10. (real excuse) money is tight
11. bathrooms have long lines
We are the royal kings in excuses why not to watch the team

I'm pissed off at you "sell out" fans who left early from the superdome. That was the most embarrassing thing I saw. Some of you fickle fans started leaving during the 3rd quarter. I know it was raining and cold but Louisville had the same walk back to the hotels that we did. How bad does it make us look when we have the lower level BEHIND our own players from sections 140 thru 144 clear out during the 3rd quarter. Dedicated fans stay till the end.... win or lose. Gator Nation should have stayed and poured our support to the team. That could have made the difference.

During the Spurrier years Gator Nation picked up some fair weather fans jumping on the bandwagon. Spurriers offense was exciting and in the "3 yards and a cloud of dust" SEC he ate up opposing teams because their defenses weren't accustomed to this type of offense. Some of these fans bitched and complained about Meyer's offense, even though he brought us 2 national championships and now even though we had a tremendous regular season of 11-1 the bitchers are still with us. Let's just acknowledge the facts: The Gators did not show up to play and the Gator fans did not show up to support their team (for whatever reason). Fortunately, we have at least one person-Coach Muschamp-who didn't make any excuses. He told it like it was--we got outplayed and outcoached. Too bad that many of our fans don't the same amount of class!!

Yep. And this could have an effect on future bowl bids. If I ran a bowl game outside the state of Florida, why would I ever want to pick UF?
And I think the excuse about ticket prices is baloney. Money is a serious issue, but ticket prices were the least of my costs attending the game. I got prime lower-level seats behind the Florida sideline for $40 each from a scalper yesterday afternoon. That was 1/10th the cost of the flight down there.

There is a point, but as fans we are not required to attend events which as everyone has pointed out may not be opportune on a Wednesday in New Orleans, but student athletes getting a free ride at school are required to give it their all in return for their education, not to mention the fact that it is their stepping stone to making millions at the next level if they perform. Coaching and players are to blame for the loss. If we had all the fans in the stand, do we really think the outcome would be different?

Well this half of Gator Nation is paying on a mortgage and student loans by myself- Wish I could've been there for sure , but it wasn't in the cards.

Strong is staying and this will help them with recruiting. They have better chances to make another appearance now.

Forget ticket sales.....any pics from the game or anecdotes on the fan split? Gators have been there a bunch and know not to buy their tickets from the UAA.
I didn't go, but if I had I wouldn't have bought tickets from UF. Know plenty of folks who went and got tix elsewhere.
