Show that you care a little that you are getting pounded. Don't celebrate as if you are oblivious to the overall result.
I really don't know how to further explain it. One last try:
Our celebrations last night was Nero's fiddle. What was taking place over the whole game was Rome Burning.
Does that help???

Freak I got your point just dont agree. Yes the team was losing but they were putting up effort. It was not like they were getting physically dominated. They were not getting pounded. This was not Alabama or LSU last year. This was a team getting eaten alive on 3rd down. They were still flying around and hitting people.

Call it third down failure, call it we were flying around. The bottom line is still the bottom line. Our defense was getting gashed and it showed in the stat sheet and the main stat sheet - THE SCOREBOARD

Is that sort of like SOS & his "Act like you've been there before ?"
Well at least we know that all that extra tutoring paid off & our defense was actually able to read their press clippings for the last few weeks without any help.
As for all the early exit juniors - may I hold the door for you ?
Maybe getting rid of some of these hyperinflated egos will help team performance.

Please. I said maybe SOS. It's not selective memory, it's incomplete knowledge. A quick internet search attributes it to Tom Landry (as already suggested), Vince Lombardi, Paul Brown, and Bear Bryant. So I don't know who said it first. But the idea is still valid.

So let me sum up your point. We were stuffing them on running downs but Bridgewater was throwing undefendable passes with perfect timing, therefore our defensive front should not be getting fired up when they made a good play. Gotcha

Football is a game of the heart. The stoicism of the 1950s is long gone. I'd rather have a team that plays with emotion rather than a bunch of dead fish out there.

Indefensible? I don't know about that. We had our defense out there. They had the opportunity to defend those passes. They didn't defend them. Therefore they got worked/abused. Make no mistake, Bridgewater played brilliantly. But we played poorly on third down too. In fact, we played so poorly that the defense should not have been happy with the outcome. They should have buckled down and made the crucial plays instead of worrying about what the next pose was that they were going to strike.
Scoreboard! That's all I would have been saying alllllllllllllllllllll night long if I was on the field in a Louisville uniform. Scoreboard ace.
Again, I have no problem with the smack, as long as you can back it up. If not, YOU are just pissing in the wind.

You are mistaking bravado for heart and emotion.

Those passes could not be defensed. In the second half we seemed to have more luck disrupting their timing. The defensive front was playing with heart and getting fired up. It just wasn't enough. We did hold them to 9 points in the second half, including the series that started on our own 19.

Could not be defended? I can assure you, they could have been defended. They just weren't. Our secondary got worked. They could not cover last night. Not everyone of those passes were threaded. There were a lot of guys breaking entirely too open.

I think our LB core got worked more than the secondary did.

I saw at least two TD passes that could not be defended, plus many others on third down. Bridgewater was white hot in the first half.

"There is no defense for a perfect pass." Not every pass was perfect, but a number of them were.
