This program will never amount to anything...
As long as we continue to play down to competition. We will never win an SEC let alone National championship as long as we continue this trend of just "showing up" literally against teams that are inferior.

We didn't play down to the competition tonight. We got exposed by a very good offensive passing attack.

This won't be the last loss for the Florida Football program. I promise that sometime in the future of Gator football we will lose again. However, I also believe that we are on the right track. Just had a tough game, but it is just that, one game.

back away from the keyboard, we're just a little upset. 11-2 isn't sucky. What we did on the field was...but, heck. Our QB needs work, our OC must be doing acid tonight. Our defense was on the field for the whole game, our kicking game was pee-wee football bad...we're allowed to suck occasionally. Tonight I hope we got it our of our system. We're not that good yet. We need defeat to remember that. My guess is they all underestimated their opponents. Huge, huge error. Always respect your opponent. You can hate them, but respect them. Already lost one recruit before the game. Hopefully we can stop any other bleeding. Some of these kids can be the answer.

Look back at the whole season. Top teams we did great, inferior teams ? Are you telling me Louisville is better than Florida? Florida was physically and mentally manhandled by a team that is not better. Difference between good teams and championship teams are championship teams win the games they should and are always ready to play. Shouldn't always need a chip on your shoulder when you went 7-6 last year and have nothing to show for this year

No we played down to competition. Do you really think they are better than us? The problem is we are uber conservative and it bit us in butt

I do agree with the OP. 11-2 is a great season. But the performances against BG, UGA, ULL, Jax St, Mizzou and now Louisville were all embarrassing efforts. For such a great season that is a lot of stinkers and all but one of them were against VASTLY inferior competition. Its a little unsettling and you do have to put that on the coaches.

This was not a championship caliber team. It was an overachieving team, with many weaknesses on offense.
This was a team that I thought would finish 8-4 in the regular season and play in Atlanta on New Year's Eve.
Judging by the preseason prognosticators, I wasn't alone.

It's sad to see young people not take advantage of their God given gifts. Talked in church about controlling your attitude regardless of how the battle looks. I know I am a bit fanatic about the Gators, and that's ok, that team means a lot to a lot people and that is why it's so disheartening to see them play the way they did tonight. I no longer really care if they win or lose, but more about how they play the game and the effort and intensity they bring. That says a lot about who you are, what the uniform represents, and the people and reasons for why you play. Louisville has a great coach, and it could not happen to a better kid than Teddy Bridgewater; sometimes in life, despite your best, you will stumble, but effort is something no one can take away from you. Just sad that's a lesson the Gators had to learn tonight. Non the less, in all kinds of weather, Go Gators!

I think you are right, we did get exposed, and we were overconfident going in. I don't know that we would win more than 2 or 3 times if we played them 10 times. We also couldn't get amy breaks tonight, but Bridgewater sliced us up.

We are on the cusp of a #1 recruiting class from these coaches. Let's give WM and Pease a chance to play with THEIR players before we crucify them.

I actually agree with this.

After the LSU win, I doubt anyone had any more bad memories about 7-6. The fans certainly didn't as they started making their plans for Miami.

A lot of that was due to their inability to stop them on 3rd down.

It is simple... this game meant much more to Louisville and their players then it did to our team.
Louisville played like it meant a lot; and for the most part, florida played like it didnt...

WM has said at least ten times this season in pressers that we're improving but we're nowhere close to where we need to be. He's obviously right but many of our fans weren't paying attention, we got a little blinded by our unexpected success this year. But we did have an outstanding season despite this last game, we did do much better than anyone reasonably expected, we are improving, our recruiting is presently ranked #1 in the nation, and WM is an outstanding coach who doesn't deserve some of the criticism he's getting from some here and elsewhere.

Some of you are forgetting the fact that Charlie Strong is a damn good Coach! He knows more about Florida than Will Muschamp and took him to school. He was coaching in all of our BCS Championships. You never count Coach Charlie out when he is coaching the defense.

The point is very valid - based on the sample of games this year we have hugely underperformed against less highly rated teams. I would love to know honestly whether the coaching staff feels that's an issue or not.
However I can't agree that "we will never amount to anything." We already are something as a program. If you had said this "group of players" or "coaching staff" then I would have been inclined to see your point but the University of Florida Gators is already something as a program. I may be missing the point though
