Sideline Infraction Penalty

What exactly happened? Looked like one of our guys knocked over the ref when he was coming on the field. The ref flew the flag from his knees lol. Boom was pissed.

that's what happened--a player accidentally bumped into the ref and he threw the flag for unsportsmanlike conduct

Those refs looked like the came from the ACC. Never let ACC or big 10 do our games. Payback for 2006.

Actually, we had a bundle of unbelievable penalties. I didn't see anything ejectable in that two-penalty 30-yarder play that gave them the ball on our 19 after the onside kick.

Johnson threw a punch. Completely ridiculous and a huge surprise from anyone on this team. I was disgusted when I saw that, uncalled for and just not what I expect from someone wearing a Florida uniform.

But just like the FSU game, we got no slack and they got a bunch, it was someone trash talking in his face that provoked him. We got 2 calls, they got none. In the end I think they were flagged once total?

Agree with you, but I see that in lots of games, never an ejection. Usually takes more than one punch... and usually a blindside one at that. It's obvious the other guy said or did something really bad before that.

It was right in front of the line judge and umpire though. I could be mistaken but I am pretty sure if a player throws a punch, it's an ejection.

No, I've seen many single punches, never an ejection. It takes a full-out brawl or slugfest for an ejection.

That was a horrible penalty. I don't recall seeing a warning given beforehand. They always or at least in the past they have warned the bench first and then it's a penalty. Just an atrocious penalty.
