I usually don't mind when kids decommit. In fact I didn't even know who this kid was. But for him to announce this a few hours before the biggest game of our season smacks of arrogance. He is obviously an attention seeking drama queen. As a result I say to him #GTFO.
Though a bit harsh, I do see where you are coming from. To decommit on the day of our Bowl game is a bit insensitive. Even if you are a teenager (kid), you need to have some level of respect. His timing was pretty poor with this, unless it is all a big joke. And even then, still not a good joke.
Why do I get the sense Muschamp is not the "babying" type of coach. Stress shows who a person really is. It's good to know now if Brantley needs to be emotionally stroked everytime he experiences adversity. This kind of thought is NOT the making of a champion, the type of mentality Muschamp is building.
Not even going to worry about little Caleb the Gators are about to show the world how to play big boy football. Plus I think we will get him back in the fold once he gets back home.

We are obviously making room for M Adams! But for real, this kid has the potential to be a lazy player and if he doesn't get his act straight, I don't think he will be missed.

I just think it's not a coincidence that Matt Rolin tweets that the Gators have a few more surprises coming... and then Brantley is no longer with us...

Sure, in a perfect world all your prospects would commit in June the year before signing day, never waver, never require your attention and spend the rest of the year recruiting for you. But coaching entails dealing with guys who aren't Tim Tebow, and there's a lot of coddling and ego stroking that goes on.
Elam committed to us, de-committed to FSU, then committed to us again, and I'm happy to have him. Yes, his circumstances were unique (Meyer's drama), but he also spent the entire 2009 season wavering and taking other visits before Meyer did his dance. And Marcus Roberson committed to Auburn, de-committed, committed to Texas Tech something like 10 days before signing day, de-committed, then signed with us, which kind of screwed Tech.
If the coaches feel that Brantley's a good enough player to justify a roster spot (and they clearly do), then you have to swallow your pride and try to reel him again. Are their limits to this? Absolutely. And if Brantley comes on campus, acts the fool, doesn't listen to coaches, doesn't put in the effort, then by all means, kick him out of the program.
But we're just not in a position to turn away good defensive tackles unless the character concerns are exceptionally serious. And I don't think an 18-year-old male being self-absorbed and egotistical qualifies.
