Well this is a bummer.
Brantley was wavering most of the season, but he made a big show of re-affirming his commitment and shutting down his recruitment after he attended our victory over FSU. What's happened since to bring this on?

If true and we don't score DWalker now, that is a HUGE loss.

You have to wonder if perhaps the coaches told him that we are getting some other DL prospects. Perhaps he does not like the numbers situation.

Kind of odd but earlier today I saw Zach's Tweet Picture of the Gator commits at the AA game and what stood out to me was the slightly miserable-looking one on the far right...
You guessed it... Caleb Brantley! (That was 2 hours ago)

Could this possibly be about R Nkemdiche (#1 DE) visiting in January? Isn't Brantley slated as a DT? Honestly, this news just ruined my day. I need a big win tonight to get back on track. Bummer.

i know these are young kids, but the tweet he sent out is a red flag for me at least. seems like he has a terrible attitude if he is bragging about de-committing. Just my opinion.

I wondered at first if this is an attention thing. Sounds awful but I felt like this when we had the ups and downs with Matt Elam. Its feasible he could be looking at all the wooing going on and feeling a bit jealous?
He said to some of the Gator reporters there that he has no schools specifically in mind which throws up the reddest of red flags to me. Does he just want to play a little hard to get?
Either way, best refrain from slating him a-la-Elam in case this is not his final call...

According to Derek Tyson and Zach Abolverdi, Brantley was 'joking' about decommitting all week.

Brantley has been joking this entire week that he would decommit from UF, but today he said he was serious. #Gators

DT Caleb Brantley told me last night he wanted to decommit from #UF, but I thought he was joking. He just did it on twitter. Guess he wasn't

Very strange. And I hope we can get him back. Either way, we need at the very least 1 true DT in the class.

That's it, man. I can't follow this stuff anymore. I'm part of the problem by logging into forums and following this kind of nonsense. The recruiting process is a joke. I don't like it when our prospects do this kind of stuff to us, and I don't like it when we get kids who back out of their commitments from other schools.
So long until after signing day, guys. I hope we finish with a great class.

I'll have more on Caleb Brantley's decommitment from #UF when I get home. #Gators now have 24 commits. Brantley may return to the class.

This is what I mean about whether it's a "look at me!" kind of play...

Could it simply be an attention thing? Once the coaches show him attention again, he will be back??

Yeah, I'm going to hold off on crucifying the kid. It's easy for us to sit back and piously intone about players' egos and primadonnas and not indulging their games, but this is the reality, and you deal with it or your lose a lot of ball games. Brantley's too good, and at a position of need. If he needs his ego stroked, we'll stroke it, at least a little.

I agree, the more I look at it.
Re-reading his Twitter feed he is post after post about the Gators.
Something doesn't sit right here.

I usually don't mind when kids decommit. In fact I didn't even know who this kid was. But for him to announce this a few hours before the biggest game of our season smacks of arrogance. He is obviously an attention seeking drama queen. As a result I say to him #GTFO.

Not even going to worry about little Caleb the Gators are about to show the world how to play big boy football. Plus I think we will get him back in the fold once he gets back home.
