Agree 100% now the coaches know they have to do put the full court press on him... Kind of dumb...

FSU just offed RB Derrick Green which makes me think they are not to confident with Collins.
Getting Collins will come down to two factors
1. Can Miami convince him that the sanctions wont be that bad?
2. Does Florida have room for him when he is ready to commit?

If not which players/positions would we likely have closed with?
And, fwiw, I think you make room for this guy. He's just that much of a beast. I've said before it's ok if your DL can't make all the stops if you consistently move the ball. What I'm saying is he does more good than any DL we're still looking at.

lets say we only have 28 spots to give
1. DL is almost a given
2. we get another WR
3. Jalen Ramsey or Alexander want in the class
That's 28 with no room left. What if Smythe wants in you probably have to take a TE instead of another RB.
I just cant see this staff not adding another Dlinmen, I could even see them adding two. As CWM says the SEC is a line of scrimmage league. As it stand right now this Dline class is a little underwhelming compared to last year. Players like Walker and Daniel could change that.

A guy I've heard nothing about lately is Montravious Adams. I'm pretty sure he visits in January, but I think he goes to UF first, and has like three schools he intends to see after us. Also, with Garner leaving to Auburn, you'd have to think that opens it up for him a little bit. For some reason I'm thinking he was a Georgia lean?
Hopefully we land this guy.

maybe I'm naive but Wouldnt saban/bama at least have an inkling this was going to happen before zack reported it? I find it hard to believe a 20 something year old essentially glorified blogger would have a scoop over saban on one of his recruits.

Abolverdi defended himself on the issue of DW, though, saying he was never told to keep anything quiet. He also said that if he had been asked not to disclose any information regarding the matter, he would have complied. Everything I've ever seen/read from him has been respectful towards the players themselves and the schools involved.

We've heard a lot of speculation lately on this board, but none of it points to him choosing UF. That would certainly be a way for UF to close strong.

Yeah, I don't think we've ever been a major contender for his services. It's always seemed to be a Clemson, Auburn, Georgia battle for Adams, but there's never really been a defined leader. We've always seemed to be on the outside looking in.
Still, we get a visit. You never know.

I heard 30 just over... Might be wrong, but I've heard a possibility of 30+ if need be, so could range from 30-33... Like I said though I could be wrong....

With Patchan and Saunders now leaving, I believe we get 28-29 in this class. Hope we land, Collins, Alexander or Ramsey, Robinson or Clark or North and Daniels. This would be one hellofa class. Don't think we have a shot with Adams with us being his first visit and the other schools after.

Patchan and Saunders leaving has been known for a long time and most figured them in the numbers

Jaynard Bostwick will visit Alabama 1/11 Michigan 1/18 and Florida 2/1. Look for him to take an unofficial to Miami on the 25th His father said he has the test scores and the grades to get in college I think that has yet to be confirmed. If that is true then he is a take IMO. Miami will be hard to beat for his services.

Given 85 scholarship players, it is also quite possible to find one, or perhaps even two who would give up their scholarships to increase the number available for recruiting.
Note that Larson was going to do that this year for the BB team, but something happened, perhaps parents realizing how much out-of-state Tuition is in Florida, to cause him to leave. That left the frontcourt very thin.
