UF--good team, not a final 4 team---too many gaps / inconsistent play on offense, no great shooters.

OK..that makes some sense...and maybe the only way to compare Werner to the other two

Gee to think people are critical of our players when it is deserved. The nerve of them.
Werner - usually very well deserved
Walker - sometimes deserved sometimes not
KB - slumping
Nothing wrong with pointing out the obvious. I think it is more offensive to put on the orange and blue glasses, bury your head in the sand and pretend all is well.

This board seems to forget that winning road games against good teams - let alone real good teams - is hard.
We outplayed AZ for 38 minutes, and blew it. This is very correctable.
And vs Kstate, we just got outplayed against a team that got hot from the field. That was bound to happen.
I think the biggest mistake vs Kstate was the overall lack of on-court awareness. Young and Murph should've gotten a combined 30 attempts.....

True....
But dare I say it.... we could have used Walker last night.

I've been as critical of Erv as anyone but I agree, we could have used him last night

There is certainly a difference between being critical and outright bashing. Certainly your grades here are the former and there is nothing wrong with that. Way too often last year it turned to bashing of Walker and same with Werner. It hasn't gotten there with Boynton yet and if he gets out of his slump it won't.

Disappointing game, but still think this team wins the conference and gets a high seed. All comes down to the seniors stepping up and making some plays, especially KB. Everyone knows he is a lot better than he has shown recently.

Based on some people's expectations Werner would
Have consistently graded out at a 0. Meaning they thought he was a pretty good player and he consistentl underperformed. I was highly critical of Werner and feel it was deservedly so.
Walker had a very mixed bag last year in terms of grades.

Dan Werner was absolutely horrid. In all my years of basketball no player has frustrated me more.

The k-state game was like our football team over the 2 preceeding years. Just not physical enough. We were pushed around like little sissies. Patrick was the only one who could take a shot and deliver. Missouri is lot like K-State except they are even more physical. If we don't hit our 3's, which everyone will push our 3 guards out, then we will struggle. When Kenny and Mike R. leave, the only guards we have, will have a little more meat on the bone. LOL. Our new bigs look a little bigger. Hopefully this will allow us to be a stronger team that doesn't get pushed around. Hopefully Patrick stays, but I will understand if he wants to go on to the NBA and cash in.

Eh, remember conference play has not even started yet. Who knows how this team will look in March. For example, look at the 2011 team. Who would have expected an elite 8.

Werner was a solid role player until his awful shooting in his senior year. He was fine in his sophomore and junior years. Hell, the sophomore Parsons was far more frustrating than the junior Werner.

He shot pretty well his junior year. His sophomore year wasn't great, but in comparison to most of the team, it wasn't that bad. He was horrible in his freshman and senior years, though. But he wasn't as bad throughout his tenure as his reputation suggests.

The 2011 team was playing their worst basketball in mid February 2012. At the time, I thought that it was too late for them to turn it around, but they did in a big way.

Boynton should not be playing point much, if at all.
How many games has Yeguete been an utter disaster like in this one? I can't recall one, not even when he was a frosh.
There must have been some heavy-duty downers in the food they fed the Gators over in Kansas to make them play so poorly. Only Young and Wilbekin somehow managed to overcome the lassitude and/or ineptitude that overcame their teammates.
