What's Mark Wise's Background (color analyst for Gators)?

He went from Wunderkind to "Get off my lawn" in record time.

He knows the game very well if it was played in the 1950's to mid-1970's.

I would have loved him commenting on the Illinois/Missouri game last night as it appears that Illinois's offense amounts to spread the floor and go one-on-one. He would have had a stroke watching that.

As for Wise I have little knowledge. I am usually at the home games and rarely listen to the sound when watching away games.

I'm almost positive it was the play by play guy that called us Fla. State. Frascilla has liked us from day one, and picked us to make it to the final four earlier this year. He consistantly has picked us higher among the 17 'experts' that make up the ESPN power rankings. Vitale and Simon always pick us toward the lower end among that group.

Wrong it was Fran. He called us fsu and called ksu Ku. As I also said in my OP.

Wise is terrific on radio broadcasts, although not as strong on TV.

Way to be politically correct. You can say it...wise is horrible on tv and has been even worse than usual this season.

I've never listened to him on the radio so can't tell you. His tv shortcomings are plentiful, obvious and too long to list. I have chronicled them in my grading posts when he did the game. Search those threads for a good idea

On radio that is what I hear although don't listen so can't comfirm. I'm sorry but that is far from true on tv. I've already outlined his horrid tv performances this year as I did last year also. He is so bad on tv this year it's shocking. I did not think it was possible to get worse than last yr.

Mark Wise, fireable: I know some people like him but man is he horrible on tv. First his voice is nasally and very annoying. Second, how many times can he get on his soapbox. They should change this about college hoops and change that. Of course he was way off base on Larry just moved right on rather than engage him, which was the veteran move. It was also a telling sign. Typically the play by play guy will ask follow up questions or circle back to a major point but Larry wanted nothing to do with it. As an analyst he bring nothing to the table and is wrong way too often. His insight is also moronic. (Note: this is not about his radio work and strictly related to his job on TV) He should stick to the sideline gig, which he also is below avg at btw.

grades v Savannah St. (11/20/12)

Announcers, 7: Night and day for Koss compared to Wise. One is a pro and one doesn't deserve to be on TV. Koss just makes simple but smart points and most importantly he is not annoying. Larry was worse today than with Wise but think that is more a comfort factor w/ Koss that he is willing to step out more.

Announcers, 6: By now everyone knows I dont like Wise. His voice is just so nasally and annoying. However, I think he read my criticism of his last game because he pretty much stopped everything I complained about. He got off his soapbox and stopped harping on moronic points. He still rushes and gets players names wrong and his voice is still atrocious but he was leaps and bounds better than last time.

So, you don't like his voice?
