It's not just now, I own tow shotguns, two rifles, and now a handgun. We enjoy shooting handguns, and hunting with rifles and shotguns. The reason for handguns now is because we just got our concealed and wanted to own.

Of course, we all do.

When it comes to Israel and school shootings, Wayne LaPierre doesn’t know what he’s talking about, Israeli security experts said Sunday.
Such shootings are very rare in Israel and have been associated with terror attacks, not crazed gunmen, they said.
Quote:
But Yigal Palmor, spokesman for the Israeli Foreign Ministry, said the situation in Israel was “fundamentally different” from that in the United States.
“We didn’t have a series of school shootings, and they had nothing to do with the issue at hand in the United States. We had to deal with terrorism,” said Palmor.
“What removed the danger was not the armed guards but an overall anti-terror policy and anti-terror operations which brought street terrorism down to nearly zero over a number of years,” he said. “It would be better not to drag Israel into what is an internal American discussion,” he added.
“There is no comparison between maniacs with psychological problems opening fire at random to kill innocent people and trained terrorists trying to murder Israeli children,” said Reuven Berko, a retired Israeli Army colonel and senior police officer.
There is zero difference between a suicidal attack by an armed madman whether it be an Israeli school or an American school. The result is the same. The difference is that attacks in Israel have stopped because they have armed and trained teachers and security officers. Their students are safe and ours are not and the difference is arms and training.

The one thing gun control might actually reduce are suicides. In some places, they outnumber gun-related homicide.

That's overwhelmingly shameful.

Then why don't the proponents of reducing deaths by causes other than guns recommend taking away cigarettes and cars?

What about the madman who torched his neighborhood, waited for firemen to show up before he sprayed bullets on them. Should we had armed guards protecting the firemen?

We should ban fire while we are at it, now that you make me think of it.

Spengler collected guns and killed innocents with an assault rifle. What a surprise.

The anti-gun hysteria is incredibly childish. The worst one-man massacres in US history didn't involve guns. And mass-shooting comprise, what ? about 1% of gun killings ?

Frank Luntz, GOP go-to guy for polling:
Quote:
Famed Republican pollster Frank Luntz on Wednesday said the National Rifle Association's call for armed police officers in schools demonstrates that the powerful pro-gun lobby is out of step with the American public.
“The public wants guns out of the schools, not in the schools,” Luntz said during an appearance on "CBS This Morning.” “And they are not asking for a security official or someone else. I don’t think the NRA is listening. I don’t think they understand most Americans would protect the Second Amendment rights and yet agree with the idea that not every human being should own a gun, not every gun should be available at any time, anywhere, for anyone. At gun shows, you should not be able to buy something there without any kind of check whatsoever.”

Gary Kleck, in Targeting Guns: Firearms and Their Control (Walter de Gruyter, Inc., New York 1997), summarizes the findings of forty-seven such studies, indicating that less than 2% of crime guns were assault weapons (the median was about 1.8%). According to Bureau of Justice Statistics, (Criminal Victimization in the United States, 1993, May 1996) offenders were armed with a firearm in 10% of all violent crimes. That would mean less than .20% (one-fifth of one percent or 1 in 500) of violent crime offenders used an assault weapon (1.8% X 10% = .18%).
...Gary Kleck in Targeting Guns: Firearms and Their Control (Walter de Gruyter, Inc., New York, 1997) after examining the FBI's Supplementary Homicide Reports for the years 1976 to 1992, reports "the rate of killings with four or more victims was higher in 1976-1982, prior to the popularity of assault weapons, than in 1983-1992. Regardless of the numerical cutoff defining mass shootings, there was no increase in such incidents associated with the increased popularity of assault weapons after 1984".
Dr. Kleck also states that "Oddly enough, mass killings are actually less likely to involve the use of guns of any kind than homicides involving small numbers of victims. For all murders and non negligent manslaughters covered in Supplementary Homicide Reports (about 90% of all U.S. killings) for the period 1976 to 1992, only 48.3% of victims killed in incidents with four or more victims were killed with guns, compared to 62.3% of those killed in incidents with three or fewer victims. This is mainly due to the large share of mass killings committed with arson, which is rarely involved in ordinary homicides."

Dreamliner, if you put a bullet in your head, no-one will give a fluck. However, if you go around killing innocent children, then that's bad.

Not legally, he is a convicted felon and shouldn't been able to own a firearm. But what should we expect from a convicted murder? I mean he only killed his grandma with a hammer... You would think that he would respect the law and not kill anyone, at least respect the law and not get a gun... Oh wait, those background checks only work on us who follow the law...
