SECembarassing
Iona beats UGA at uga? Loyola beats miss state? VCU blows out Bama?
Gators need all of the pre-season wins like zona they can get. Seeding committee will not be kind in march, regardless the conference record. 4 teams from SECseems likely.

So in basketball is everything a foul? I'm actually confused... Patrick Young was just standing there with his arms up the Arizona player drove in and shot the ball without Patric moving just arms in the air and it was a foul... I'm lost

Seems there is one official who is not competent or has an agenda tonight.

Agreed. Our SEC schedule is going to bring our strength of schedule down. We are by far the best team in the SEC.

I respomded.to above posts so get over it. and, we are in the SEC and we embarrassed ourselves tonight by not being abe to inbound 3 times.in the end game. So it is about us and about our game tonight.

This might be the worst night of basketball in the history of SEC basketball. Pathetic.

Maybe we should join the ACC for basketball season? Or the Big East? The Sun Belt is more competitive than the SEC (the last few years).

Win some you lose some... Still can make a statement by defeating KSU in the next two games... Then just handle business in the conference if that happens then Florida will be no lower than a 2 or 3 seed

just like the sec dominates football recruiting, the acc and other conferences with the exception of uk and uf own the top basketball players. right now, it is obvious that the sec is a football conference. don't think that doesn't come up on the recruiting trail. it will change but it does not look like it will in the near future

I'm a basketball fan before I'm a football fan, but I'd much rather be in a football conference. I don't understand all the worry about not being a 1 seed. Guess what? You'll probably be favored in every remaining game this year. If you win all of them but a couple, you'll be a 1 seed.
If Billy ends up as worried about SOS as many of you seem to be, he can schedule tougher OOC. By that I mean top 10 teams, lots of them. Duke played a stretch of 6 games which included 4 teams that will end the year ranked (OSU and UL in the top 10). As you'll see in March, losses like the Arizona loss last night don't hurt you that much - especially on the road. So schedule more of them. Lots of good teams will do a home-and-home and many others will do neutral site games (which can net you more money possibly).
I don't think there's anything to worry about. Take care of business and enjoy a great seed.

I agree. Right now it's Florida, Kentucky, Missouri, Ole Miss, in. Bama and Tennessee bubble teams.

SEC is definitely down. but we'll be the ones w/ the big target on our backs as we run thru the SEC schedule. we'll get everyone's best shot.
all these losses, etc, do get factored into the equation for seeding etc. but i don't think there's that big of deal between a one seed or 2 seed, etc. it's more about matchups. that is, there might be an 8-seed that causes us more trouble in the tourney than a 4 seed.
it's mid-december and i half-think that coaches use this time to work the kinks out to get prep for the conference slate, especially those w/ young teams or new coaches w/ new system to install. so you're gonna see alot of inconsistency in the early going.

Those teams you speak have refused to do home/away with Florida. Florida scheduled Duke years ago and K had the option to make a visit the following year to Gainesville and did not exercise it.
UNC, Duke, Indiana, Syracuse will not play in Gainesville. I think getting Arizona to do a home/away with us was a major victory.

Coach D is a great coach and will continue to put the Gators up there in the top 10 if not the top 5. We all should be proud. GO GATORS-------

This schedule is not going to be as tough as it looked earlier. Noone except UF is ranked in the SEC. Zona is #4 now thanks to the refs(21-8 free throw calls) and Uf giving the game away. After that Georgetown is #15 but that game doesnt really count. Wisc, Marquette and FSU arent ranked. The rest of the schedule is weak. Its early and the SEC might change so UF will get tested before the NCAA but I just dont see it happening.
