I hope CWM goes after TE Durham Smythe
He just decommitted from Texas I know he liked Stanford a lot in his recruitment but he looking to go to med school and liked the offense at Texas which is the same offense Florida runs.

For football = UF
For med school = Stanford.
With apologies to the best GP MD there ever was, Willie Whibbs, my doc of 30 years and UF grad.

With the commitment of Robinson, at least IMO, we probably have about 3 spots left.
We still need another DT, another LB, and perhaps an athlete or a TE.

Collins. Maybe not a need, but a want.
I think I like Elijah Daniel better than any DTs left on the board. I see a couple of our truckload of DEs turning into DTs. All but one of them are bigger than Jaye Howard was in high school. Ivey could be 285 by fall.
I like a great TE, but I don't know that a stud pass-catching TD is a necessity in every recruiting class. Reed is a necessity because he's so freaking good. And didn't we just redshirt two really good freshman TEs? That said, I'd take Smyth in a heartbeat. Last Smyth we had was all SEC, though in another sport.

After watching his film he looks like a NEED to me. I was scared for the defenses he was attacking.

I know we need a DT but Collins would just be sick. If florida can grab him look at the recruits that will be coming in on offense. We all knew CWM would get top defensive guys but now they are adding top offensive guys to the class. Can't wait for next year. I really want Alexander as well our secondary would be the best in the country for a good while.

But why do we need another DT? I know I sound like a broken record, just looking for opinions.

With Floyd the most likely NFL jump, Hunter graduates, Mann dismissed from the team, we have SR Jacobs, JR Orr & RS FR Williams with JUCO Cummings & True FR Brantely. Only two of the five are battle tested and game ready, so building some depth is important.
Unless we land Adams, which I doubt, I agree another DT might be a waste, especially when Fowler & Bullard could give you 10 snaps a game inside if needed and I like our DE depth. I would rather focus on O and land RB Collins or even a 6th WR like James Quick or Clark.

It also depend upon wither Easley returns which I think he does, and perhaps one or two of our DE's can also play inside. You can never have enough DL and OL IMO... ever.

Agree with Gray. And while Daniel is great, he's not better than Adams at his position.

Their TE's have done very well recently and they use them a lot.

As of right now its Florida ND and Stanford. ND already has 2 TE's committed this cycle so he is probably not a take for them right now. Stanford has stayed in contact with him the whole time he has been committed to Texas. His family is big on academics but I believe Florida can win this battle.

He could mean a lot to the offense. Enough to where I feel we should take him if we can. However, the coaches know where their chances are strongest at landing more talent at positions of need. If it does not look like we can land another top dl, then take this kid if we can.

looks like Stanford has 2 TE's committed this cycle. I would gues we would send Lewis to talk to Smythe since he played TE at UT and is our TE coach.

This is actually a need. Jordan Reed is probably going pro. Clay Burtan cant catch. Tevin Westbrook ???? Thompson hasnt played a down and Kent Taylor still needs to gain weight. Smythe is already 6'5 230
