Pretty ridiculous to say the Irish had a patsy schedule this year too. You don't have to like them by any means, but trolling with ridiculous comments like that make you look pretty silly. ND played and beat Stanford and Oklahoma this year. Outside of the SEC teams, ND easily has the best resume of the other teams in the NC hunt since they're the only ones who've played and beat two top 12 teams.
Oregon can't say that, KState can't say that, f$u can't say that, etc.

Give them the trophy already. SEC dominance continues. Tide will crush the Irish.

Don't they seem to act that way regardless of who wins? If it was Oregon, USC, Texas, Michigan, KState, FSU, Alabama, doesn't matter who, we (naturally) always think the attention is overdone unless it's for the Gators.

They only do that for the big programs; there's no way ESPN would do that for K State.

Could be true, or maybe with a different slant. New sheriff in town stuff. Feel good story about Snyder coming out if retirement to resurrect the program. ESPN hypes the flavor du jour.

Espn has never gave the SEC any respect with all of the NCs, Bama please blow out ND, for the sake of Holtz and Musberger,ESPN.

Espn's main commentators are not from the SEC. Palmer is the only one and for some reason refuses to give respect to Florida, unlike other commentators that always support their alma mater. Unfortunately anyone outside of SEC country usually is butt hurt over its recent dominance and it reflects with ESPNs commentators.

I don't care for ABC or ESPN commentators, but I'm curious which commentators support their alma maters. I know Herbstreit had to move from Columbus because some fans harassed him for not being more supportive.

Throughout the year, he's called it exactly like we have on gator country. Great defense, mediocre offense. Hell, he (during the BCS selection show) said "Florida has the best defense in the country". Would you rather him be like Holtz? Not me.... I think he does a great job of balancing his bias vs maintaining objectivity.
Also, Palmer is not the only SEC guy on espn. Pollock played for the poodles.

Agree on all counts. Jesse calls it fairly--whether or not some Gator fans like it. It seems some Gators would rather have him lavish nothing but slobbering praise--warranted or not. He gives it when it is due--as he did when commenting on the defense. Also...Pollock has shown lots of love for Florida, to which I can only imagine he catches a lot of grief from his Athens brethren. He too calls it like he sees it. I think both of them do a great job.
Now the Mushburger slobfest over ND can get sickening as he has no idea when to stop. Lou simply slobbers--regardless of who he is talking about. But he does give the Irish much more credit than they deserve and that gets old quickly.

Good call. I've seen him on some show earlier in the season, but I don't believe it was on espn. SEC network? Sunsports? Either way, he definitely represents us well.
Not to hijack this thread, but Leak on CBS does a pretty good job as well. Very articulate.

Jesse may be calling it "fairly" from his point of view, but his point of view is too much like the throngs of casual fans and media pundits who simply don't recognize that defense wins championships... especially when combined with outstanding special teams, ball control and ball security.
Jesse spent way too much time focused on our passing game, and not enough time looking at what other teams bring to the table (or don't bring to the table) wrt defense, special teams and ball security.
He missed the big picture and consistently underestimated the Gators because of it.

If you're an SEC fan you cannot want ND to win this game period! ND is so over hyped and arrogant that I hope Bama beats them on the last play of the game so we can watch Lou Holtz and ND fans cry!
