AZCat, based on your report, I really like Florida in that game. If you don't have a true point guard and have turnover issues, Billy will go all out to speed the game up. Boynton and Wilbekin will put a lot of pressure on the perimeter ballhandlers.
Looking forward to it...this will be our biggest challenge to date. Zona might be our toughest opponent until March (although UK will improve rapidly during the season).

Let me help UF fans with the sizes in order of mention:
Lyons, 6'1" 200 lbs SR, 25.8 min, 12.3 pts, 1.2 reb, 2.3 asts, 3.0 to, 39.3% from the arc.
Johnson, 6'3" 200 lbs Soph, 28.0 min, 13.7 pts, 2.8 reb, 4.2 asts, 1.7 to, 33.3% from the arc.
Mayes, 6'3" 200 lbs SR, 15.3 min, 4.8 pts, 0.8 reb, 2.0 asts, 1.5 to, 30.8% from the arc.
Hill, 6'7" 220 lbs SR, 29.2 min, 13.2 pts, 4.7 reb, 3.2 asts, 2.0 to, 50.0% from the arc and tied for the most attempts, 28, on the team.
Parrom, 6'6" 220 lbs SR, 20.8 min, 9.3 pts, 4.7 reb, 2.5 asts, 1.3 to,50.0% from the arc on 20 attempts.
Ashley, 6'8" 235 lbs, FR, 21.8 min, 9.3 pts, 6.5 reb, 0.8 asts, 1.8 to, 72.7% from the FT line.
Tarczewski, 7'0" 235 lbs, FR, 21.5 min, 6.3 pts, 6.8 reb, 0.8 asts, 2.2 to, 63.2% from the FT line.
Jerrett, 6'10" 235 lbs, FR, 16.5 min, 5.5 pts, 3.7 reb, 0.8 asts, 0.7 to, 85.7% from the FT line.
Choi, 6'9" 225 lbs, Soph, 11.0 min, 3.5 pts, 1.8 reb, 0.2 asts, 0.8 to, 55.6% from the FT line.
Jerrett and Choi played 5 minutes each in Zona's recent close game with USM. It appears to be a game of two experienced back courts and one experienced front court.

Well, them it's too bad the game ended early, because somebody really needed to wipe that court with something.

10 days between games, I hope we don't get too rested and become cold.

Final exam week, I bet. I am with you, a team can come out hungry after not playing in so long or it can come out rusty.

I didn't realize Wisconsin was that efficient. #9 offense, and the Gators shut them down. Florida's defense moves up to #2 in KenPom putting us right at Indiana's heels. Meanwhile, Florida edged out Indiana in Sagarin. We are now his rating's #1 team.

I'm worried about rust too but Arizona plays the 8th and then has a week off before us. We have 3 more days off, but it's not like they're going to come out in a rhythm either.

Good point. I also hate having to wait almost two weeks to see the Gators in action again. At least we'll have an extended time to savor this awesome win!
No worries about the players, though...Billy will keep them sharp and have them fully prepared for Arizona.
GO GATORS!!!!!

we look great on D and can get better and our O needs to improve and considering how well we are playing the sky is the limit , BD will keep these guys focused

Yup...the truly scary thing about this Gator team is that even as well as they have played so far, they still have more upside. With the absolutely sick defense they have, they will be a definite title contender come tourney time. IMHO, anything short of the Final Four this time around would be a huge disappointment.

Isn't it interesting how defense is the theme for b-ball this year, same as football? It's nice to have the safety net of a stout defense to fall back upon if you're shots aren't falling. When the shots ARE falling - look out!

Like our championship teams, this team has great balance and good bench help. We can overcome cold-shooting from our top scorers on any given night and not be hurt too much by it, because so many guys can score double-figures when asked to.

Shooting cold can be an issue but if you have a defense like that, you can stifle another team, also bound to be a bit rusty, plenty long enough to get out of the shooting slump. Just hustle on defense and shooting wont be an issue.

That's my concern. I hope to see this team progress and get substantially better throughout the year.

Not really UF has complete basketball team and program. That can not be said for UF's football team nor program. But heck if you want to believe coach speak myths about defense, be my guest.
